I've been expecting this ever since the he's out of your league exchange with Aiden.
And now it's at least a week and a half until the next chapter.
Oh and Kurt, I'd be willing to bet that Owen and Aiden get back together but it's going to be a fun ride getting there.
YES! I can see it now the Travis / Dennis scene that Dom didn't write by our very own Vic.
For those of you who have no idea of what I'm talking about check out Vic's topics in this forum.
I've read that conversation between Aiden and Ryan a few times now and it seems to me Aiden was more afraid that Owen would tire of him and start looking elsewhere then he was of hurting Owen himself. He was afraid of getting hurt himself.
His line of reasoning is very confused.
And I don't think any straight guy would react as Dennis did to that kiss.
I've thought about this and I've read that passage from this chapter three times. We don't really know much about the breakup but I'm beginning to think that that it started with Aiden and Owen went along with it because he didn't know how else to deal with it.
I'm also wondering what it's like for Owen when just about everyone in town that you know is also friends with your ex, even his own brothers. He has got to feel a little isolated with no one except Dennis and Nicky that he can talk to.
Great chapter. The interaction between Owen and Aiden was ...interesting. I think that they have a ways to go yet and Dennis is finally coming out of his self imposed isolation.
I think that this story will go on for a while.
Both an unfriendly update or a hack could produce the same result.
I spent 15 years in unix system support before I retired so if I can ever be of any help I'd be glad to.
I read all 12 chapters of this one last night and I have to agree with Colin. It's a great story and a really interesting way to tell it.
I'm looking foward to your next story Lucy.
I'm afraid I have to disagree. Garret has never trusted this man, not from the first time that he met him, nor the sect for that matter. Why would he start now. As I was reading this sequence I was thinking "I can't believe that Garret is trusting this guy now". The fact that no one with Garret at the time warned him of possible deception is also hard to believe.
Having said that I can't wait for more. The ending will make for an interesting part two.
I think that Dennis is so messed up that he doesn't have a clue what he wants. I also think that Travis may be the one to get him to open up and talk. They probably have a lot more in common than either of them knows. We did get a little glimpse of what happened with Ben along with the fact that Dennis doesn't think that he can/should be forgiven for his part in it.
Here is a wild prediction: Ben takes on Dennis as a counseling project. (even I don't believe this one)
There so many situations and subplots in this one it will probably take 40/50 chapters to resolve them all.
After Dom announced in his blog that he was writing this sequel I re-read The Log Way (for the third time) . Here are a few things that I hope are clarified.
1. What really happened when Ben was so badly beaten.
2. Why was Dennis forced to keep that journal that his parents reviewed.
3. what was with the "homemade flannel pajamas with a dinosaur print" that Dennis was wearing.
It wasn't just pre-meditated it was choreographed (and with music too!) and Jacob was in control from start to finish. The delayed reactions should be very interesting.
