Being submissive doesn't mean you are a bottom, it means you are giving up temporary control in the bedroom. That isn't right either. The submissive is in control in the bedroom in the way that they control how much or little is done. The Dom is basically an instrument to get what you want out of the scene. It's more of a state of mind. You don't know how gratifying it is to be in control nonstop of work, home and other people and have that little escape where you don't have to call the shots, that someone can be stronger than you ( like how Brad was with Wade ) . I still see Wade as vers but it's funny, I always pictured Will as more of a submissive in the bedroom than Wade. I can see Will being unsure if it is ok to be that submissive in the bedroom if he's looking for direction from Brad, but since he's really not.... I really don't think Wade's abuse ties into this at all. I think it's more of his OCD nature needing a break. Makes him hotter This isn't about your comment personally, but seriously why is it that a person is abused, in any way for any length of time, and everything that happens after that MUST be a direct result of that abuse? There are many non-abused people that are submissive by nature. There has to be a point where you take a step back and make a decision based not on prior abuse but what you want from your life and relationships. Just like a non-abused person would.

Loved the feel good chapter! Everything worked out very well in the end, leading up to .... drama! I hope. I just gotta say that while I appreciate Noah's character I still wish it was Tony with Will on Christmas. The coat of arms was a really neat touch, the detailing for each family branch was really cool. Everything in the chapter was what family is about. Amist all the fighting and problems you still can draw together, laugh with and love each other. And in the middle of the night, my pervy mind went to 'Lou kissed Will???' Wouldn't that be a fun day-after-Christmas-hook-up?

I really don't want Paternity to end The narration with Will and Wade is great, I like both of these characters so much. Hopefully , the next story will feature Will again...or at least talk about him in depth. I can see JJ hitting up a east coast school easily, majoring in something like Drama. I agree that Will would be more of a science major . I wonder how not taking over the Schluter Group (?) or Brad/Stef's other businesses would go over with the family? I see Will teaching science at some obscure college on some coast somewhere just for the surf, although in 'CAP reality' that isn't likely to happen, he is much too responsible. And what will Darius be when he gets out of college?

I really enjoyed this chapter. I was wondering why Tony and Will were back together that same night... It was nice to see Will/Tony connect on more of an emotional level than just physical, a step in the right direction. I'm VERY happy Will finally opened his big mouth and said something about how he was being treated. I'm eager to see what kind of hanging out they will be doing, since he has a girlfriend (why? and why not a hot one?) they won't be dating , just hanging as friends? In the last two chapters , Matt, Gathan and Wade have all commented on Will's 'hotness'. Are they just now noticing? Any chance of Matt and Will hooking up one day? Both Will's conversations with Brad and then Wade show how incredibly fast Will is growing up and how insightful he is. If this family could skip a generation for it's leader, it would be Will in everything but life experience. It was very telling when Wade told Will he was like a baggage handler, how much trust and love he has for him. I WAS surprised that Will agreed to go back with Brad, this is going to be one hell of a week for them. So many disasters have crossed my mind, I can't wait to see what's really going to occur. I can see Robbie forever holding Brad's indiscretion over his head, completely ignoring what he (robbie) has done similar in the past. I like Robbie but I don't see how he isn't bitch slapped more often ,sigh. I don't think education in the Schluter boys has been reinforced well by their parents with the exception of Will who is most likely using JP as a role model. Is Will smart enough to test out of high school and hit college? As a parent it is so obvious that bad grades = grounded. I'm sure that Scotland competion is important (for JJ) but more important are your grades. It's not just education, it is teaching a lesson for life. You don't get to slack off and still get a reward. Ever. Noah...I don't know if I like him yet. That just may be me, I don't connect well to stand offish people. Thank you for another amazing , well written chapter! I was thoroughly entertained

This is the chapter I have been eagerly anticipating. My favorite POV is Will (always Will) but I wanted to see what Will DOESN'T see, which would be this confrontation at the dining table. I haven't been leaving reviews lately since my phone can't seem to remember my password but with every new chapter posted, I appreciate and admire your hard work and dedication to this story and to people like me (who lost the bet and are staying home with the kiddies) I can't wait to see what is going on with Will next. It blows my mind how Robbie is oblivious to how much he hurt Will. And knowing how hurt Will is, why isn't Brad spending more time with him? Thank you and Happy New Year!

Wow, what a surpise with Nana! What kind of person could (hypothetically) do that to another and waste more than half their life for money? I like JP and Wade's talks more and more, you do get such good insight to the rest of the family. I think it's interesting and I may be wrong but in chap.67 Will commented about the look in Jeff's eyes when Jeff saw Tony. In chap. 68 Wade thought it was about him. Two separate things happened around the same time or different interpretations of the same action? Isn't Jeff all about Will now? What I am worried about for the next chapter is Elizabeth having her nurses take Riley away or plant something that would implicate Wade as a bad parent. I have a hard time with all the nurses anyway. He has three parents, why does he need nurses too?

weeks of checking my email at 3 am has finally paid off! THANK YOU! Loved the chapter, it was good to see the interaction with the brothers. I can not see Will as an A&F guy more than humoring Stef and Ella, he's more ' surf bum' casual. I really am thankful you are writing again, it's such a pleasure to read your work. Nothing brightens my day faster than seeing the ' Mark Arbour posted.....' in my email subject line. I cannot understand all the Will haters out there. Either they're crack fiends needing a fix or jealous haters Please keep them coming, I still want to know if Raine is preg?

off topic, but what does this mean? clearly being awake for almost 33 hours is getting to me but why did Will's smile impact Matt? “Thanks,” I said, hitting him with my serious smile, the one I usually reserved for guys I was trying to fuck. It was pretty flattering to see him almost recoil when it impacted him.

I feel like a druggie getting a fix. There were so many questions answered during this chapter, about so many different issues and now I have more questions but I must wait for the following chapter. I really enjoyed the discussions Will had with his lawyer and Gary. I really felt surprised that Step, JP, Claire and Jack didn't go nuts over Will's announcement. I also am wondering about how deep Tony and Jeff's attachments to Will really are? Did Jeff seem jealous? Just curious on why there was only 5 million and why were they in separate trusts if they were from the same person (tonto?) That seems like chump change for this family. I absolutely loved this chapter and am going to go crazy until the next chapter posts, THANKS!

I really found Wade to be so much more interesting than I previously thought in this chapter. He was so much more assertive and in control and capable than he seemed (to me) before. I enjoyed this chapter thoroughly, even though I was looking for the blue writing, lol. The relationship with Wade and his father seems so much better and hopefully the Senator will put Mummy Dearest in her place.

I am really looking forward to more talks about the 'emancipation' and how the family takes this next step. I would think that custody of Will would be awarded to his grandparents or perhaps his aunt/uncle vs. the extreme status of a 14 year old adult. However, Will acts like he's 18, he might as well have it in writing. I do wonder if Brad would blackmail Will with the information that he's slept with several men over 18 and threaten those guys as a way to control Will? I hope the next chapter isn't too far off so we can get the dirt! Thanks for posting so fast And right before the big extended family Thanksgiving- A stroke of dramatic genius!

I was just thinking and maybe this is something everyone knows but me but.... All the lawyers I've ever used have already been on retainer so I've never hired a lawyer based on a rec. Why did Sean have to tell Wade if it has nothing to do with Wade at all, just rec'ing another lawyer?
-
Wow, I wonder how the rest of the family are going to take Will (possibly) being emancipated? I really think Will is overreacting as far as Brad is concerned. He tends to go straight for the kill. I would love to see what happens to the first person that brings that to Will's attention. I don't think he would get very far without JP and Stef stepping in and taking custody of Will as a compromise for both parties. The only thing that I was curious about was that Will isn't interested in politics? As smart as he is and considering who Wade and his father are and how important the election is to Wade, wouldn't Will be more interested? Loved the chapter, hope the next isn't too far off, thanks Mark I think Will should keep the house too....

The issues with Wade's family were interesting, I'm not sure how the reporter angle will play out but am sure it will be a hit on oh-so-evil's side. I'm thrilled to see so much JP interaction! I missed him. Thank you for sprinkling some Will problems in there too so we can see them from everyone's viewpoints. This family is so gossipy! Already , everyone knows about Will's sexual plays? Brad has seriously messed up with this Michael situation. High profile family or not, you can't ignore the photographs. Who knows what other pictures or videos Michael has? If the family were to let this go, and the situation is discovered by the press, wouldn't the family look worse for looking the other way? I'm anxious to see just how devious Michael is and what he is planning.

Will IS right. He is using common sense along with decent morals to make the point that his family IS in the wrong. Before anyone jumps on me, he was wrong to run away and wreck his parents belongings. I don't get that people think he's too mature for his age. Kids develop at different paces. He grew up in an adult world and is very bright. I knew kids like that when I was that age, in fact, I know kids like that NOW that are my son's age. At 14 some kids are more childish, like JJ and some are blowing into the adult world, eager to grow up, like Will. Doesn't anyone have a friend in their 20's, 30's, 40's that is so immature that you shake your head in amazement? It works both ways.

Great Chapter! I have to be honest, I was waiting for Will to be kidnapped, shot , stabbed etc. , lol. It is mind blowing after all the drama with Will running away and Brad/Robbie PROMISING to discuss decisions involving him, that they (brad/Robbie) made this important decision without him. I'm shocked Stef went along with it, but what is really disturbing is why Michael took the pictures to begin with? Does he have a 'Will in compromising positions' scrapbook back home? What Jeanine did was just wrong on so many levels. Anyone mother willing to share private photos like that, even if Will was over 18, is disturbed. The countdown is on for the next chapter!

Paternity Poll: Favorite Narrator
Mari replied to Mark Arbour's topic in Mark Arbour Fan Club's Topics
I like Will better even though he is bratty, that's actually what I like about him Wade's good too but he's a little stuffy at times. Will's has two tons of character and just explodes off the screen at you. -
YES! drama Is it Friday yet? sigh. It's sad when I look back 12 years and see how my political views have changed. Not sure if that's a good thing or not anymore
-
Jeremy lied. Bad Jeremy. Now JJ is going to fall in the long program.
-
Great Chapter! The entire 'discussion' between JJ and Will was amazing with strong points in Will's favor. He is able to be effective and brutal without looking bad and everyone is still on his side *except JJ and Jeanine*. Clearly JJ knew about the pictures but how? Did he put Michael up to the challenge or did Michael just happen to catch it on film? Or maybe Jeanine. Infected wrist? hmmm. That could be interesting. Will was so assertive and so much like his Dad when talking to the skating officials. Still, how embarrasing the have your dad see such pictures of you, lol. And I wonder if there will be any fallout to the ''several skaters, officials and staff'' comment? Like the over 18 crowd? I can't see Brad being thrilled with the idea of Will sleeping with so many , much older men, not counting Jeff. Even if Will didn't sleep with them, at that moment, Brad doesn't know that.
-
This whole chapter left me feeling really unsettled. Will definitely shouldn't have involved the police for that minor incident and should have really thought of the consequences to his entire family. I would have loved some more insight into Step,Brad and Robbie's reactions to the entire situation. I hope the next chapter comes quick!
-
I like this schedule! I like Wade's POV too since it does add a more mature outlook to the storylines and has an interesting political twist that we don't see with Will. I also like the way we can see Wade's view of Will and vice versa. Will is still right up there with Step and JP for me as absolute favorites, can do no wrong
-
Thank you for posting so fast! I guess it's because I grew up in the South, but good manners dictate that when you receive you also give back so no one is left unsatisfied I love Will's exploits! And he still gets Jeff so all is well. Jeanine is just....psycho. I'm waiting for her to push Will in front of a bus or stab him. Jeanine's treatment of Will would most likely influence Tiffany's to not move back to Malibu.
-
I like jaded and cynical, you can't always be rainbows and sunshine
-
WOW. Jeanine is such a bitch. (can I write that?) I guess the electro shock therapy was only effective on her depression not her general insanity? I understand JJ's attitude a little, it's only normal he's stressed and he would take it out on Will, since Will is right there in his face. JJ must have tattled, again! Big surprise there. Here's my question. I see Will's behaviour as normal for his age, not embarrassing. Is JJ really embarrassed by Will's actions or is Will's family embarrassed? I can't see that Stef would care. Stef and Brad were so shocked by Jeanine's action that they didn't react? wow, I can see Brad especially going off on her for that. Thank you for posting so fast! You made my night
