  1. Mark liked my Palisades fancasts, so I'm going to post them here: Paul Walker (She's All That) as Jackson (duh) Camille Guaty (Gotta Kick It Up) as Kendra Olivia Wilde (The OC) as Sloane Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menedez Story) as Chase: Ashby Gentry (My Life with the Walter Boys) as Ethan Lalaine (Lizzie McGuire) as Maya Edited because I didn't pick a pretty enough photo of Paul Walker for Mark's tastes.
  2. My fancasts for the cast of the Palisades: Paul Walker as Travis, duh. Camille Guaty (Gotta Kick It Up) as Kendra Olivia Wilde as Sloane Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Monsters: The Menendez Brothers Story) as Chase: Ashby Gentry (My Life with the Walter Boys) as Ethan: Lalaine (Lizzie MacQuire) as Maya:
  3. Given that this is meant to be a racier teen drama and not something on the Disney channel, I would assume most of the cast members are in their early/mid- 20's. Travis being 19 is actually an anomaly in that world, although not unheard of. KJ Apa was 19 when Riverdale started. Which was funny, because his musculature made him look 25. My head cannon is that Kendra is being played by a 30-year old Latina that can absolutely still pass for 16 (think Alexa Demie on Euphoria), Sloane is actually 17/18 (think Mischa Barton), Maya is 20, Chase is 22, and Ethan is a 24-year old former child star who decided to come back to acting after taking time off to attend and graduate from college. (Think Cole Sprouse.) You might like the Summer I Turned Pretty, then, because they all reasonably passed as teenagers that first year. (Lola Tung really was a teenager, I believe.) But yeah, I get it. It will never not be funny that Netflix tried to pass this guy off as a 17-year old:
  4. Chapter 1 -When Will and Travis negotiate the act of him leaving. "If You Leave" by Nada Surf -When Travis meets all his new castmates. "Beverly Hills" by Weezer -The Palisades Theme Song "Fly" by Hilary Duff -When Kendra is introduced to the world of Pacific Palisades Academy, and meets the school's golden boy, Jackson Pryce. "I Always Get What I Want" by Avril Lavigne -When Palisades gang hangs out in the cave after Kendra carves her initials. "Soco Amaretto Lime" by Brand New -When Jackson stares after Kendra after driving her home, as comments on Myspace begin to furiously debate if she slept with him or not. "Chocolate" by Snow Patrol
  5. Chapter 93 -When the gang recuperates from all the drama in Maui, and we see the plans for the new compound. "Times Like These" by Jack Johnson I miss when coffee shops were local and indie and you'd hear Jack Johnson playing like all the time. LOL
  6. I've been watching this Mad TV skit getting myself in the mood for 2005: LMAO "Vacation for 5 daysies while New Orleans blew awaysie..."
  7. I've decided that this is the theme song for "Palisades." I wanted something that actually sounds like it could have been a 2000's teen drama theme song without actually having been one. This fits that to a T. lol

If Will dated someone like him, I think it would end in murder. What is his full name? I imagine it's a handful.

Should Frederick Granger go in the timeline, or no? I don't remember if you gave him a specific birthdate or no. I guess it's just June 2003?

I thought Mary Ellen and Alex named their son Frederick.

I'm debating if we should add the birth of Fred Granger since he is a Danfield. I can't remember Mary Ellen and Alex had their kid before or after Robbie Van Den Boss Carrswold. I think it was after and was not "on book", so to speak. I think Mary Ellen announced her pregnancy at Thanksgiving 2002 in Streak, so she was probably pregnant in August. Maybe a June 2003 birth?

  14. Maybe they could turn it into a tourist destination as a massive art installation. Think of it as like an urban vertical park with murals throughout.
  15. The Graffiti Towers of Los Angeles. It's a failed abandoned skyscraper project that has since become a canvas for "taggers" and a curiosity for urban exploration. Pretty amazing to think about the vast amount of money that was wasted on something that will never become what it was intended to be. Now it's just an empty billion dollar shell, but has somehow become a monument to the unrealized ambitions of the American dream...

I recently re-read the opening of Paternity and it's still hilarious that Jeanine and Tiffany thought there was any chance that Wade would just walk away and be hands off when they revealed that Riley was his biological son. LOL
  17. It's an interesting time in your life. My grad school period was honestly the best two years of my life. I'd go back to 25 in a heartbeat in a way I wouldn't for 21.
  18. I mean, it's a Matt story where he kind of freaks out about graduating college and tries to hold on to his youth for just a little bit longer before surrendering to adulthood and his family with Wade.
  19. Came across this video detailing the San Diego Chargers leaving for Los Angeles. Kind of a sad story.
  20. I vote candy maker like Willy Wonka instead:
  21. The term "Gold Star Gay" comes to mind.
  22. Agree with Oxford Blue with silver finish.
  23. Well, you need the star of the show. That's Will. Once he got past his peak bratty behavior in Paternity he's actually been quite fun. If Mark does go through with Travis and Will getting married in 2008, it'd be kind of cool if he uses that as the "endpoint" for Will's storyline and then the focus picks up with Wade's kids as teenagers in the mid-2010's.
  24. Well, Zak is really from Greenwich, Connecticut. Do they wear tank tops there? If not I can just assume he had zero input in wardrobe for that particular photo shoot.
  25. That reminds me of this really wonderful gay film called Big Eden from 2000. It's about a man in his late 30's/early 40's who comes back to the small mountain town he grew up in after his grandfather gets sick. He explores an old friendship he had with his best friend from high school, who is currently going through a divorce. They kind of get into this weird relationship "will they/won't they" deal but when push comes to shove, his friend just can't go there. As much as the friend wishes he could go there, he just can't. Clearly the friend was flirting with the idea, and liked feeling desired, but he just couldn't go there. It's not compatible. (Don't worry though, the hero gets his happy ending a different way.)
