  1. A very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Take Care Tomas
  2. In my considered opinion he is an arrogant, egotistical twerp. What other 16 yro celeb is writing his memoirs. For that matter what 16 yro that you know of even has memoirs to write about? A Bad Boy!! Maybe a pretty boy with attitude, nothing more. Take Care Tomas
  3. Hey! I resemble that remark. There are no old farts here. We are legion... the wise and befuddled elderly. Take Care Tomas
  4. Interesting question. What I do when I want to tune out the world: I have a large, very comfortable overstuffed chair. I get one of my favorite dead tree books out of my book collection. Then I get comfortable in my overstuffed chair and read. Losing myself as the tale spins itself out in my mind and imagination like a movie. In doing so I generally become oblivious to my surroundings and the world goes away. At least for a time. I think that it is a thow back to when I was growing up listening to my favorite after school radio programs and using my imagination to visualize what was going on using the dialogue and sound effects to do so.
  5. SUPER! CONGRATULATIONS!! That is a fantastic accomplishment. You've done yourself proud. Keep up the good work. Take Care Tomas
  6. WOW! Just... WOW!
  7. Let's hear it for Cody! Cody Simpson! Yeah!
  8. I don't think it's an either or thing. A song with beautiful lyrics that is sung by an artist in a performance that is technically perfect, but without emotion, may not turn out to be beautiful and the song fails. The reverse can also be true. A performance that may not be technically perfect but is done with emotion can sometimes make even mediocre lyrics sound beautiful and there fore make the song. Then too. No matter how good the lyrics and how good the vocal performance, the music for the song, poorly played, can ruin an other wise beautiful performance. There are just too many variables that can make or break a performance to say it's one or two things that make a song. Take Care Tomas

  10. What? Wimpy, self centered rag dolls! LOL
  11. For sure!
  12. Now, if it were Cody Simpson.
  13. Would love to. If I weren't 2000 miles away and of an ancient age, relatively speaking. Take care
  14. Awwww. Nothing is ever so bad as it seems. You're near enough. Go take a slow stroll around Lake of the Isles with someone you really care about and bring your portable music listening device with Dvorak's New World, especially the 2nd movement or maybe Beethoven's 6th (Pastoral) and there is always Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No 2, especially the 2nd movement. Then relax, listen and drink in the beauty, if it still is as I remember it. Take care

  18. The two pieces that I mentioned above have indeed been my theme as I meandered though this life, but that theme will change to a more suitable theme for that moment in time when... Listen to Beauty Do not stand at my grave and weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep When you awaken in the morning's hush I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds in circled flight. I am the soft stars that shine at night. Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep

It was/is my understanding that there is to be a Series 3 of this show on BBC. I was wondering if any of our brethren from across that huge pond called Atlantic had any information as to when the series might air. It is too bad, international agreements not with standing, that it isn't broadcast simultaneously on the BBC America cable channel. Take Care Tomas
  20. "O Fortuna" from Carl Orff's "Carmina Buranna". Oh! And the arrangement by Highland, entitled "Magic Fortuna".

Same thing with houses in Buras and Empire, La after Betsy, I believe that requirement extended all the way down river to Venice. If memory serves, houses had to be built upon a platform 15 feet high. I can only assume that that is still the case. Gosh, Its been years since Betsy. I'm surprised that I remembered that. Take care, have fun.

Something that I wrote and posted on another site (no longer in existence) after Katrina.
  23. There are two rather long poems that I like. Both run to about 130 or more lines. The first is "Renascence" by my favorite poet, Edna St. Vincent Millay. The second (which I'll not post unless someone asks) is "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" by T.S. Elliot.
