  1. I didn't know about it either. He was only 22! He had all his life before him. This just makes me more paranoid than I am...
  2. well there was I think only one notice that could support a theory that Matt may be connected to someone from the CAP series - and that is where he comes from ;-) (and maybe also where he (subconsciously?) wants to go to university ;-D but this one would lead astray I think) edit: and now I found the second chapter! I read it at once... and what to say... not a very good way to realize such things... just before your graduation... at leats we know why we have to find the parents...
  3. well, it's been some time since I signed up with the primary reason to read some stories... but recetly I started to wander around the GA a little bit and since I post here and there at the forums or blogs, being a decent guy:D, I should come round here and say hi... so hi!
  4. hm... a tiger with a woody... they don't show these in the zoo! what a pity... so now we have TWO full-blown stories with interesting endings forcing readers to die with anticipation of the next chapter... well, of course, I wouldn't dare to use a word like a cliffhanger for example, because no one hangs anywhere and they are not dying... yet. Instead they just lie in bed (both Calvert and Matt) but I can't wait seeing what will happen with any of them - if they get up sound... well this posts looks a little bit break-neck English but I hope you got the message... sometimes I just don't know how to express myself
  5. *sets haunting ghosts of dead people mode* Yesss...! You'll suffer for his deathhhh! Forever and ever...! Brains! Give us brains! well... I sort of let myself carry away... where was I? Oh yes, *end of haunting ghosts mode*
  6. You're mean, you know it?! Bad Mark, bad! Everyone can die - and everybody will - but Mark does it to certain characters too early!
  7. well... what can one say... leave it to Mark and his abilities ;-) we'll see and then you can fry him with your questions ;-) now that would be a STORY! :D but... can you imagine a woman with the Hayes build? That would be a big she-man!
  8. Who can promote him? Can it be done in India or will he have to wait till Admirality in London decides on it there? Now that was some chapter! I'm really sorry for Calvert, hope we'll get to know how it happened. He's going to have quite a big scar across his belly... (Mark do you see that NO ONE considers the possibility that Calvert would die, do you?! )
  9. hm... not a state holiday, I think you call it vacation...? Anyway I finished my grad school and I had some free time before starting post-grad studies in September - so I basically did nothing mentally challenging and let my brain just rot ;-)
  10. well I must protest! Although I'm not a stoneyf**ker (a joint from time to time doesn't count ;-) ) I noticed the 4/20 signal right when I was reading the chapter! I made a comment (not so smart though...) and it was left without a reaction from the author! Everyone was just paying attention to my unfamiliarity with a die one can cast... see: But I didn't notice the reference to Tiger... but I'm a newbie here, so that's maybe it.
  11. well it's nice to know that after rotting during holidays there still are some remnants of my brain that can even think... ;-D
  12. So I was just walking and thinking about something and suddenly this thought popped up in my mind... So that will be my guess... ;-)
  13. So the meaning of the sentence was something like "everything was set and now we have to stick to the plan", even though it is more dangerous... oh well, that is the secondary reason I read these stories - I've never come across this expression before thanks for explaining :-)
  14. well, Paya is a nickname, moreover modified (originated in some other language...) but still nice try to be witty ;-) otherwise if such name existed/exists, it would be a nice coincidence... :-) oooh... I didn't know the singular is "die", I've known "die" only as a verb... coool :-) thanks for enlarging my horizons! :-)
  15. well I have no guess yet but as what Mark wrote somewhete up in this thread if someone guessed _here_ and he was right, Mark would tell him...?
  16. And what about that 4/20 signal, hmmm? ;-D and well... "But the die was cast" - it's "dice" I hope...? Otherwise it's quite disturbing and non-sensical :-)
  17. yeah... I asked about that too (at the yahoo group) But who? When JP can have a brother almost 30 years younger, it could be everyone... This person, the narrator, has to be around 18 to 26 (that was usual age of the narrators except Stef at the last book), he could be 16 but not less. So he's born around 1980 or earlier. So it can't be Brad's or other kids (nor even Bitty's as I thought about for a while), they were too young. So that leaves us with JP and his brother John, or JP's partners then (Roger? who else? maybe Sam...), Stef, maybe Greg, Isidore and Frank,... He should be Crampton, Schluter or Hayes... It requires to re-read the Be Rad or the Land Whore to notice some small mention of something somewhere that would make possible for Mark to rustle up some offspring ;-D I don't suppose Mark would come up with some loser outside the three families that would like to break inside...
  18. well you definitely guessed right but you weren't the only one and certainly not the first one to mention that so there's no reason to soar your ego more ;-) all you did (as all the time) was endless bantering about who is or is not a bottom - and to say the truth it starts being quite repetitive and BORING... Thanks Mark for early posting! I was very glad how the things turned out (and I promise I don't read your mind nor the chapters in advance ;-) ). I really enjoyed this chapter! well and I don't see any signs of a naval war (even small one) or any particular danger... they all know what is their job and what goes with it. A real danger would be some real fast Ship of the Line or well I don't know what but they still have a lot to sail to Mauricius at first place and then they are supposed to block ships around their size or smaller...
  19. how about posting the next chapter earlier and let us find out? ;-)
  20. That reminds me - the scene with Fellowes in the room upstairs on the party - that reminded me of the f*ck parties in 70s in the Land Whore. As for Granger, yes, he f*cked up, that is why he deserves groveling. He started to think he knows everything in the world now when he's captain.
  21. That can't be overlooked! But I'd be very disappointed if it is Calvert who has to grovel in the end, I think George deserves a lesson on his sluttiness because he uses double standards. When he f**ks whoever he wants, thats his duty (or whatever thin excuse he finds) but when for example Travers f**ks someone then he's in tears and hurt and f**ks whatever moves. I'd rather see it was Jeffers' or Fitzwilliam's hand than Calvert's. I think it's not just to Calvert that Granger only shows his ass and everything is forgiven. On the other hand he's in the power position and if it had to be him to grovel (when he would eventually find out that he misses Calvert or that the guilt is on his side) I think he'd rather use his power - and he'd be very mean, did you note that anger remark? He knew how Calvert loves him and what sort of relationship he wants/desires. If Granger told Calvert he loved him only to get his dick, he deserves some fasting. (It's hard to imagine Granger fast from dicks! ) He shouldn't have told him about love (in Calvert's style) if he didn't want to obey it. Well, in this one I'm on the Calvert's side. :-)
  22. in other words, George is a slut... what surprised me, how much slutty he in fact is...
  23. Great chapter! Full of action! Both in the bed and on the sea... I think... George picked up the right solution of his dilemma.
  24. What is this with those cliffhangers at the end of every chapter? :-) A new practice or what? I really appreciate how Calvert and the chestnut boy fit - so I take it the photo was first and then the precise description of Calvert? :-) Looking forward for chapter 4! It's coming!
