  1. This reminds me of all those Thanksgiving dinners during my childhood when my Dad and his four brothers would get together and argue about EVERYTHING under the sun. The truly funny part was they all pretty much agreed on the subject, it was the semantics that got in their way.
  2. Somebody's been watching too much "Family Guy"...
  3. Happy Holidays to you and yours, Mark and Season's Greetings to your team as well!
  4. If I were a betting person, I'd wager that Will does come to the realization of what he did at some point and will apologize while in the company of Wally and Clara. Given the lapse of time, I think to apologize otherwise would not adequately convey the sincerity of a 'face-to-face'.
  5. It's only been three weeks in the CAP timeline since 9/11. Grief counseling notwithstanding, they're all still pretty much in the throes of grieving their losses. After my Brother's passing, I rushed my Mother to the hospital with severe chest pains on the six week anniversary of his death. Her blood pressure, which normally runs below normal, had spiked to 265/215 for no apparent reason. The doctor was puzzled as to the cause until I told him about our loss and he said that her reaction was understandable, although a bit severe. He went on to explain that grieving peaks around the six week mark for most people and their reactions can manifest in any number of ways. That said, we're still very early in the grieving process and I really don't expect to see any change in anyone, Brad especially, for a long time to come and I don't think we've seen the worst of it yet.
  6. It has been about 15 years since I made the effort to teach my niece to drive. An EPIC FAIL, I might add, though not from lack of effort on my part. At the time the law required 25 hours supervised practice before licensing and passenger restrictions once the license was acquired... Now the practice requirement has doubled to 50 hours and there are so many sanctions and stipulations I don't see how anyone manages to get a license. http://cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/drivers/teen_driver_safety/gdl.html
  7. I'm sorta curious as to exactly what "Cool Member" is in reference to.
  8. What crime against humanity did you commit to warrant such a fate?
  9. From the "Better Late Than Never" department: Well ya kinda spoiled us there for a bit, Mark. Until Chapter 27, average posting time had peaked at just over four days, thirteen hours. From Chapters 27 through 42 the average interval was just a hair over two days, fifteen hours. Given that one-third of the chapter releases were almost two days shorter on average, I'm surprised your ears aren't ringing from the incessant whine.
  10. Not much else to be said that hasn't been said already, so here's wishing you a hearty THANKS! and CONGRATULATIONS!
  11. Wasn't the illustrious Phelps clan out and about purveying their special kind of Christian love by this point in history? Seems fitting that Robbie's pathetic excuse of a mother would be all about that...
  12. It was a beautiful September day and I was at work escorting construction crews when a coworker told us of the WTC being hit by a plane. He had no more than told us of the first impact when he was back telling of the second. I remember getting a painfully sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that seemed to never go away. Everyone was so dumbstruck by the news that there was far more contemplation than conversation going on. After work and a limited access to any information, I went home and changed, then drove to my parents. After catching up on the latest news, Dad and I went outside to enjoy the weather and just talk. We marveled at the silence due to the lack of aircraft in the sky. I think I was fortunate not witnessing it firsthand as it played out on TV, since my entire summer had been such that I'm not sure I could have handled the trauma.
  13. Someone's been watching too many "Dallas" reruns...
  14. As a matter of fact, your overall average is 4 days, 5 hours, 49 minutes and 14 seconds. Your weighted average is just over an hour less at 4 days, 4 hours, 47 minutes and 32 seconds. However, over the course of the last thirty days that average has now dropped to 3 days, 7 hours 52 minutes and 33 seconds; a difference of 21 hours, 56 minutes and 41 seconds. Almost a full day faster!
  15. Okay, so at the current pace it's going to be more like Chapter 38 on the 11th...
  16. Is that a threat or a promise? Given that chapters are being posted on average every 4 days, 7 hours, 45 minutes and 24 seconds I'm guessing that Chapter 35 will be posted on the morning of September 11 around that fateful time?
  17. It is nice to read such uplifting chapters. Seeing the dates in the story bring back the emotions and memories relating to what I would have been doing/feeling, maybe not on that particular day, but in the general context of that summer. These last couple of chapters are such a counterpoint to how I spent the summer of 2001. I do remember spending 9/11 feeling like I'd suffered a massive kick to the groin, but that was just the period at the end of the sentence that was my summer. I know others have mentioned it before, but I truly believe that Will channels Tonto and had she passed prior to his birth, I'd almost have to say he was her reincarnation. My sentiments exactly.
  18. Geez, spent the day in St. Louis and missed all the real entertainment...
  19. Ugh... I'm starting withdrawals... The new chapter is over 28 hours late....
  20. Jeremy, you think Patrick Duffy's was hot on "Dallas", you should check out his first TV series "Man From Atlantis". It was short-lived, a cheesy, sci-fi series on NBC that lasted through four TV movies and 13 episodes from early '77 to mid '78. I don't think he spent much time dressed in anything but spandex trunks throughout the entire series. Gotta love the '70's.
  21. Unfortunately I had nothing better to do. I must admit it was a quite pleasant diversion from the situation (or lack thereof) at hand.
  22. You mean they've not? We've seen hide nor hair of them for the past three weeks, are you sure no one's had their nefarious way with the entire cast?
  23. Never get enough of the rantings of delusional, corporatist thugs. :mace:
