Whoooops. Thanks guys, had a few great days, which is why I didn't even notice this thread here.
-
D'oh! Guess I deserved that.

Probably the same reason why straight men enjoy lesbian... err... 'erotica' and I can actually enjoy straight stuff, even though I'm gay. There is always at least one person involved whom I can enjoy watching (unless he's wearing one of those dreadfull pornstaches ). Lesbians on the other hand do absolutely nothing for me.

Wouldn't stop if you told me to.

What I don't get about this story is why a pretty unknown author is ripped to shreds over a few little lies while George Bush is still not facing impeachment. Although... if it weren't for this thread here and The Daily Show ( ) I would have never even heard about James Frey. His actions might be wrong (at least I think so) but it also shows how easy it is to distract from more serious and important matters with the speed every story is rushed through the media and subsequentially forgotten. Mh... might have gotten a tad off topic there... please don't hurt me.

Found it on nifty (where only the first two chapters are available) followed the link and couldn't stop reading 'till nothing was left. Definitely on my "must read" list.

That. I was actually talking to her, but was too lazy to quote the first time around.

Did I win anything?

Those knitting needles seem mighty... biiiig. Or is that just my imagination...?

I nearly started watching Angel regularly, when one evening I zapped into it and that hottie came into view. Unregular schedule killed that idea.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0120070/ One of the very few movies to make me cry. Plus... it has Dennis Quaid, so either way, you can't go wrong with it.

My first and only crush to date is my still best friend ( ). Unfortunately he is hetero. Guess I should never have asked and just kept that fantasy alive...

Genesis - Open Door But unlike with you guys that's not a result of the lyrics, but of the sound of the song. Since they aren't exactly bad I'm still going to post them here. I see your smiling face, by the open door There's the morning light Shining in your hair, and in your eyes And just a little way behind that smile of yours I see another one, oh so far away If only for one second, I could hold you close to me When the Master calls for me again There's nothing I can say, or I can do Goodbye, my love Time has come to say farewell I hear the call again Goodbye to the world I've sheltered for so long Oh there's so much my love, that I can never say And in a little while, in a little while There's nothing left to see As the years go by and I have not returned And the night has come, falling all around Ooh if you count the stars you'll know How many have gone out And when the Master calls for me again There's nothing that I can say Or I can do Stand in the sun Shut your eyes and feel the world It's changing every day Goodbye my love Each day will seem so long Ooh there's so much I feel, that I can never say I can't see you I can't feel you anymore I've just a memory of that open door Right behind that is a large and ever changing group of "second favourites".

Harrison was the first one I saw in that role. Since then he's the one I picture in my mind when thinking of Jack Ryan. And he definitely is the best choice.

"(Berlin) German LGBT groups are expressing outrage over reports that police in three German states are keeping secret computer files on gays." http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/07/072505germany.htm Yeah, really, thanks. I always wanted to have to wear one of those nice pink triangles and the first step towards that seems to be made. I found the original link and it also states, that homosexual meeting places are considered potential crime scenes. I must have missed where being gay became a crime again. My bf is studying law in one of those states, and I guess it would only be a small step to expand those databases from suspects, victims and witnesses to also include the lawyers involved. I post this here since the soapbox is still closed. I know politics shouldn't go in this forum, but I don't see how this could become a controversial or hotly discussed topic in our community. Hope you don't mind me venting a bit.

I came out over the course of a few months around last New Year. I was 21 at that time and had known I was gay for maybe two years. So it took me that long to be able to inform my closest friends and later my family. I don't think there is some kind of threshold age at which you should have come out and started dating. Still in the closet I often mulled over what I was missing, how everyone around me had a girlfriend and so on. I often felt like I would never have that and I guess that is what you are thinking about. For my study I moved to another (bigger) city and the distance to my hometown really helped with coming to terms with my wants and needs. I don't know what your plans for the future are, but I'd say don't feel pressured to come out. It's an important phase/point in your life and you should initiate it, when you feel comfortable about it. If it takes another year or two and maybe a change of scenery, then so be it. You'd still be faster than me. P.S.: I haven't read any H.P. book yet, so I'll not be occupied by that over the weekend. I'll be here all the time, learning for my two tests next week.

[DomLuka] Shutters and shudders
Iuvart replied to fatboyfat's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
What's wrong with German? At least we can differentiate between our friends and enemies when adressing them. -
I prefer "my professor forces damn hard things down my throat for the three years I've been at this college." <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know if I'd be bitching about that. Depends on who said professor is...

Uhm... possible. I didn't know there were .eu-ISPs. I'm with the first group. But I think that would only be a first step towards a united mankind, that has overcome such barriers as nationality, ethnicity and, most importantly, religion. My utopian dream.

*hugs vic* Hope I'm allowed, too. To contribute to the thread: I hate it, when... ... the society I live in and my natural shyness make it nigh impossible to find a boyfriend, when I finally realize I want one. ... I lose touch with my schoolmates/friends for a few years, in that time realize I'm gay and when I finally hook up with them again "gay" has become a defamatory word in their vocabulary. ... I have to start working out to keep my waistline from expanding (Oddly enough wasn't necessary till I turned 20). ... my university forces a ton of useless, boring and damn hard stuff down my throat, so that after three years I may finally be allowed to learn what I want to learn. ... I have not passed those three years yet. ... it's 35+

[DomLuka] Interesting little quiz
Iuvart replied to BoyNeedsTherapy's topic in Promoted Author Discussion Forum
You scored as Modernist. Modernism represents the thought that science and reason are all we need to carry on. Religion is unnecessary and any sort of spirituality halts progress. You believe everything has a rational explanation. 50% of Americans share your world-view. Modernist 94% Existentialist 94% Materialist 94% Postmodernist 81% Romanticist 44% Fundamentalist 25% Cultural Creative 13% Idealist 6% I totally agree with that. -
[DomLuka] What's your score?

You really do need to get out more. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I know... I just never get around to. Living in a city with seemingly no gay community whatsoever isn't exactly helping either. There also are other reasons for that, but I won't go into those because I don't want to hijack the thread with my rambling. @Sharon: I'll take either.
