Enchanted Life - 10. Chapter 10 Charmed

I recovered. It wasn’t a complete recovery but I was farther along the healing process than I was a while back. Talking to Chance again, letting myself free of the burden of emotion, I could finally sleep. I was finally getting back into the swing of life.

The majority of my pressures and stresses were decreased greatly.

I was back talking with Ashlynn, and Talan more regularly. The three sorcerers were back hanging together. They both were overjoyed that I was becoming the Julius they remembered. Everyday we sat at lunch or they came to my dorm. The three of us were making up for lost time.

A new energy was beaming from all over. I felt radiant. I was in my highest spirits, being happier than when I first came to Celestial.

Today, I invited Ashlynn to my room. Talan and he had other plans though. I found myself stuck in my room alone. It didn’t upset me that they went off attending to their other business.

Chance gave me a new perspective on life. I was more optimistic than when I fell in that depression. Like the ordeal with my parents kicking me out of their lives. I was finally over that. I let it go. So what, if my parents hated me. They would never know how strong they have made me. They will never know what I endured to become better at what I’ve always chased after.

Later, I could see the sun sinking behind the horizon outside of my window. Since my friends weren’t going to stop by, I decided this would be a good time to study the black thick book of enchantments. There was always plenty to learn from it. There was so many notes I needed to write on the new enchantments I planned on using.

Laying on my stomach with my legs up. I spent the next two hours retrieving information out of the book. Filling my head with magnificent knowledge of mystic wonders, and dark sorcery techniques to better my skills. I was jotting pages of notes. My wrist felt like it had a cramp coming along, and my fingers wanted to fall off.

Losing myself in the pride and joy of learning new tricks, I was startled when I heard a knock on my door. For a moment, I got quiet shuffling my pages of notes around on the bed, before slamming my book shut and sliding it under my bed.

I knew it was probably Ashlynn or Talan. I didn’t want them to see the book yet. Not until I have learned most of its secrets.

Knock, Knock, Knock.

It was a rapping at the door again. I thought Ashlynn would twist the door and come inside by now. That’s what he usually did. He wasn’t the type to knock and stay outside. He would stroll in, him and Talan and start a storm of talking.

Knock, knock, knock.

I was tired of them knocking so I shouted, “Come in!”

“Hey.” pretty white head of snowy hair greeted me with a flashy smile. “Is everything alright? Are you doing okay?” he wore something I wasn’t regularly use to seeing him dressed in.

“I’m doing good. Things have been so excellent for me.” I told him with an expert like smile. I couldn’t help eyeing Aaronn. He didn’t have on a suit today. It was more of a relaxed theme in his choice of clothing.

He paced in his sophisticated footing to my bed and sat down. Looking his violet stunning eyes at me “I’m happy for you.” His fingers found my hair then his fingers started to twiddle with it.

Aaronn wore a black shirt, with khaki shorts, and white shoes. It was s part of his preppy appearance. It was still a step within his casual style, but it looked more comfortably cute on his body. It was like his body could breathe. It was so lovely to see him in something outside of the suit, it made him look like an attention grabber.

“I was coming by to check on you,” He said looking around my room for a minute, then he looked at me again. “and I wanted to see if you were busy.”

I thought about the book I was jotting those enchantments out of, and then I told him “I’m not too busy.”

“Great! I was hoping not.” Aaronn was playing with my hair but I could tell he wanted to say something else. From the look on his face there was something he couldn’t bring himself to say.

“Why did you ask if I was busy?” I asked trying to understand the choice of clothing and the new look he wore on his face.

“I wanted…to um…” Aaronn stuttered in a jumble of words. I don’t think I had ever seen him like this. “I wanted to know if…um…you know,”

I stared into his dazzling violet eyes to establish a connection. To understand what was making him act so out of element. “Aaronn,” I said softly trying to bring him out of the stutters. “Are you okay?”

I watched his rattling gestures. “Certainly.” He then took his shaky hand from my black hairs, and ran them through his own hair. “I don’t have anything to do at the moment,” He said with his head down looking at his khaki shorts. “and there is a carnival down the street not too far from the school.” Then I noticed how his eyes illuminated when he picked his head up to look at me. His confidence seem to rise a level. He crossed his legs, “…I was wondering if…you would join me at the carnival.”

“I-I-I…” I was the stutterer this time.

It was an unannounced invite for me. It was so cute how he asked me. It almost sounded like a date.

“I thought it would be nice for us to get out.” he told me, with a shy smile.

“I-I-I…”

“I mean if you aren’t busy or anything. It’s not like it’s a date or anything…unless you say so.” He interjected. He seemed to get flushed in his face as if he was trying to avoid from being rejected.

My stutters had left and I could speak clearly. “I’d love to come! I was so bored anyway.”

Aaronn leaned his head back, closing his eyes sighing out all of his worked up tension. “Thank God.” He said relieved with a smirk.

That’s when I started to scramble out of my bed to my closet. “It will only be a second. Let me find something decent to wear.” I told him returning his pleasant simple smile.

“I’ll let you get dressed.” Aaronn stood from my bed, stretching his arms. “I will be outside your door, until you find something to wear.” He was being the gentlemen as usual. He was so energized, by my accepting his offer that he told me we would be walking there together.

I think he forgot about Celestial’s rules about no one sneaking off campus.

Before Aaronn completely shut my dorm door, I called out “Hey Aaronn,”

“Yeah?” he said from the cracked space of the door way.

“How do you expect we are walking there? You know the rules about sneaking off.” I reminded him with a sly grin. I guess he was too excited to remember.

“Oh, I think we can walk on this occasion.”

“What makes you so sure?” I had just grabbed a shirt from a hanger when he stuck his head through the crack of my door.

His white hair gleamed, and so did his smile. “Oh my powers have advanced greatly.” I was wondering at first what did his powers have to do with us walking until he said, “I discovered I have the ability to wipe memories from people’s minds.”

“What!” that was very scary, but amazing. He better not try that with me. I forget how many abilities psychics were entitled to if they trained hard enough.

“Yeah I can do it.” he shook his head positively confirming his own words.

“No teleporting enchantments?” I said with my eyes big. I had gotten so use to being the transportation for our out going events that this mind wiping technique sounded so off to me.

“No teleporting.” He finalized with clarity. “I will wipe everybody’s minds as we pass them to exit the school. It will be like we never left.” He slightly laughed. “By the way, I thought it would be better for us to walk together.”

He closed the door after telling me about his ability to memory wipe. I suppose we all were gaining new experiences with our powers, and lives. We were all growing at our distinctive rates. Learning new abilities, and learning each other.

Our walk was quite unique. As we strolled down the streets passing by trees, and houses, and street lamps. Talking about our lives before we enrolled in the Academy. Telling each other how we came into knowing we were gifted with abilities beyond human understanding. It was a nice welcoming feeling spreading between us, as we were getting better knowledge about one another.

When I told him what my parents had did to me, he was being dear and compassionate towards me. Asking me did I want him to wipe my memory of my obnoxious parents but I told him ‘no’, because everything I had been through should be remembered. Those were the experiences that made me tough.

We discussed his younger days, and how his mother and father used him for their gambling addictions, and they won millions of dollars from his psychic predictions. When they were well set on money, they were able to open their own business, and they granted him his wish to send him to Celestial Academy where he advanced as a psychic and not to be used anymore for their benefit.

After we talked about our backgrounds we were getting closer to dotted yellow and pink lights. Where the gates of the carnival were coming closer to view. I could see the rides where screams and yells were a stretching echo over the pavements and street lights.

On our way to the gates, Aaronn made a few jokes making me laugh. Especially about Ashlynn and Talan. He talked about how they were always talking. He was wondering if Ashlynn had ever had a quiet day. He thought that Ashlynn probably talked in his sleep, and talks to himelf when no one is around. It was quite hilarious because it could be true.

Then Aaronn started making me laugh about different comical jokes about the jocks, then the emos, goths… I had definitely got my ab workout from his funnies.

When we were past the gates, my eyes were enlightened with the dotted sprinkles of lights covering the place from entrance to the far back. It was a fun filled event.

Aaronn arms shoved into his khaki shorts. He walked beside me, his violet eyes twinkled against his plain black shirt. We aimlessly wandered through the carnival listening to the rides whizzing buckled in screamers by our heads, whipping their bodies at slicing speeds through the night air. To the left we watched children board rides and get off shaking the dizziness from their heads.

There were lines of grown ups and kids waiting for rides. Lines of people ordering food at a sliding glass window, Where they were giving pickles, hotdogs, hamburgers, soda, chips, and other tasty snacks to eat while enjoying the carnival rides and lights.

You could smell the warm mouth watering foods being baked and freshly prepared for the crowd. I was hoping that I wouldn’t be a witness to some of these people getting off rides and losing their same tasty food in a vomiting spat.

Besides the thought of vomit, I was feeling like Aaronn took me on a mini vacation.

His idea to come here had mixed the elements of a promising great time. I valued the time we spent walking around together talking. It was such a genuine thing.

A man came by yelling out “Get your cotton Candy here! Get your cotton candy here! All different colors and all different types. Come and get your cotton candy, right here!” the man was waving his hand over the heads of people passing by.

Before he could pass by, Aaronn, stopped him to buy some cotton candy. It was a clear bag of purple cotton he chose from the box, the man had strapped to his shoulders.

Aaronn thanked the man kindly, and threw the bag of cotton candy at me. “You’re Welcome.” He grinned.

I wanted to say thanks but I don’t think he wanted me to. He already said ‘you’re welcome’ so what else can I say?

We kept walking. He offered me to get on a ride but I told him I think it was better if I stayed on the ground. I wasn’t too much of a fan for the wild swinging rides. It always freaked me out that one day someone could flip out of the ride and get hurled somewhere into space.

I didn’t plan on being that person. So, I much rather be a viewer on a pleasant scenery like this.

We stopped short in front of a water shooting game. Aaronn figured we should play it, since I was too chicken to get on a ride. It didn’t bother me, being that, it didn’t call for me to get thrown from left to right.

The water shooting game was station almost in the middle of the whole carnival. It was a row of guns and a little sitting stool behind each gun. Whenever the man shouts ‘Go’ whoever squirts enough water inside the target to make the buzzard go off first, wins the game.

Taking my seat on one of the stools, I gripped the gun with my thumbs posed over two red buttons. Aaronn was sitting next to me with his focusing eyes settled on the target in front of his water gun. His thumbs were at any minute, ready for the signal of ‘Go’ and they were going to press the red buttons and let water shoot.

When the man shouted ‘Go!’ I felt like I was caught unaware. So I got a late start. I pressed the buttons on the gun and watched the jet stream of water shoot out. At the same time, I was trying to keep the gun pointing at the target as it spun.

The battle was on, and it lasted for a good minute before Aaronn buzzard went off claiming him the winner.

He cheated.

I know he did but I was having so much fun with him that I didn’t get upset at all.

It wasn’t a surprise to me he won. Because I believe he saw his victory before it happened.

He chose a big white fluffy stuffed animal as his prize.

“You cheated!” I hit him in the shoulder while we walked away from the game.

“Ouch!” he rubbed his shoulder. “How did I cheat?” he snickered as if he was innocent. He was looking at me like he had no idea what I was talking about.

“I know you.” I smiled at him while he curled the humongous cuddly animal under his arm. “You had a vision before you played that game. You knew you would win.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” He laughed at my suspicion.

I persistently accused him of using his powers to win a prize. I wouldn’t let him feel good about winning. I kept pointing the finger at him.

“You had to, that is the only way you could ever beat me.”

“You act like I’m psychic or something.” Aaronn added wiggling his fingers over his eyes.

I nearly busted out in laughter, but instead I stopped walking and folded my arms to give him a scrutinizing stare.

I wanted to hear the truth.

“Okay, okay, I cheated.” He looked up at the star littered clouds giving up. “I did see myself winning. But…” he paused for minute shuffling through his thoughts. “I won for both of us. I won this,” He gave the stuffed cuddly animal to me. “For you actually but since you couldn’t stop making me feel guilty I have to give it to you now instead of later.”

“Aww thanks.” I pridefully hugged the animal, before putting it under my arm. “You are such a gentleman.” A gentleman is what he was. His classy style and his mannerism, his sophistication, I know anywhere life is to lead me, he would step in front of me opening the doors so I could walk in. He would always be there to make sure I am comforted. He will do anything in his will to make sure I’m not threatened.

After getting my gift we walked around some more. Making a few circles, and watching how high some of these dare devils were being lifted into the air.

Out of nowhere he finally motivated me to get on the most absolutely extreme rides. Some of these rides I was surprised he cheered and inspired me to get on.

I couldn’t believe that I was actually enjoying these crazy neck breaking rides. Some of them went up and up and never seem to want to come back down again. Some flew us in so many loops that I wanted to throw up from being so noxious.

At those dizzy uncoordinated moments. I felt like I was back in my baby years trying to learn how to walk again. My wobbly legs wanted me to fall.

Aaronn being the casual kind attractive fellow he is, wouldn’t let me hit the ground. Sometimes when the lights blurred together in an image that made me want to barf and fall in my own vomit, his gentle hand would find my lower back to steady me.

His arm would hook through my own sometimes, or sometimes he would toss his arm over my shoulders in what looked like a sideway hug, to keep me standing. He was there to keep me balanced. Letting me know that he was there for me, and he would always try to be my support.

“You want to take a short break for a while?” he whispered into my ear with his arms still holding me in his dearest way.

“Yes, that would be nice.” I told him slugging my words out. My eyes felt like they were crossed or something. When agreed to his break I felt his hold on me get firmer.

He helped me walk to a bench where we sat for a minute so I could regain my sight back. I guess I was having too much fun on the rides that I got carried away. My eyes and body weren’t use to all the spinning it experienced.

Squeezing my giant friendly white fluffy animal, I buried my face in its furry back. Thinking it would somehow help.

Aaronn was sitting next to me on the bench. When I caught my breath, and my body wasn’t in the adrenaline pumped state anymore. Aaronn started to have a calm chat with me.

For about ten more minutes he asked me questions. Asking me: if I was enjoying myself, wondering if he had picked the right place for us to come.

His concerns lied mostly with what I wanted. He was only worried about what I had to say about everything, and how I felt tonight.

It was a tremendous emotion to have a guy doing good things for me. Wanting to know my thoughts, my feelings, and my opinion. He actually cared about the layers of my character. It was even better that this same guy, wanted to see me at my happiest.

Aaron pointed at the top of the Farris wheel getting me to glance up from the stuffed animal’s fur to look.

To my surprise at the top of the Farris wheel sitting there was Ashlynn! He wasn’t alone either. Staring a little harder, and waiting on the wheel to spin, I noticed Cameron was strapped in beside him.

I remember asking Ashlynn and Talan to come to my dorm earlier, but they both said they had something to do. I think from what I’m seeing on the Farris wheel, I know what they meant by that now.

I know Talan is probably around here somewhere.

“You know I had a vision Ashlynn and Cameron were having sex.” Aaronn included.

“I could have told you that.” I said.

“That vision wasn’t sexy at all.” We both started to giggle at what he said. “I don’t even want to talk about the details, or the position.”

We kept laughing and making short funnies about his vision. There was nothing else to talk about after a while. It came to a point where the only thing we both could do was sit quietly on the bench and exchange awkward glances.

The looks between our eyes said more than we could understand. It was his purple glowing irises that wanted me to know more than he was ready to say. I’m sure he could see the same in my eyes.

That’s when he stood up from the bench offering me his open hand to take. I placed my hand in his as he gracefully helped me to my feet.

Pointing his head to the Farris wheel I knew what he wanted to do next, so I gladly accepted.

With our fingers laced together we went to the Farris wheel and boarded it. I had to leave my stuffed animal behind until the ride ended, but I didn’t mind.

We were buckled in by some guy who was in charge of the wheel. After being strapped in, we found our bodies closer together than anything we shared.

Sitting on the ride our thighs touched sending a confusion of feelings throughout me. Then the ride started to lift from the standstill and rotate slowly. We were eventually raised to the height of the blue speckled nighttime view.

I was so close to the sky that I saw a glittering star shoot through the night. The wheel turned us at a moderately slow cycle. Letting our eyes take in the stars above.

At this time Aaronn’s hand crawled into mine, while we sat turning in the wheel. Being very gentle he brought my hand to his soft lips to kiss the back of it. He directed his purple gaze into my eyes as he did all of this.

His stare was so intense, and centered on me that I thought he could see my future there in the pupils of my eyes.

His style and his approach was surely making my heart flutter. He brought me to witness so much stunning and starling things. Especially sitting next to him on the Farris wheel.

There was plenty to get excited about.

Every time the wheel was at its peak, my heart would flutter even more. I was so captivated by the layout of the stars sparkling, and of course, I was stolen by Aaronn’s day dreamy pretty features.

“Julius,” Aaronn said kissing the back of my hand. “You know I saw this night.” He informed planting another kiss on my hand. “Remember the night we first met at the party? I remember grabbing your arm.” He continued talking mesmerizing me with charming face.

“That night when I grabbed your arm, you snatched away from me before I could tell you I had the vision we would meet again in a more romancing way.”

I sank down in the seat, blushing. “Sorry.” That night at the party when Aaronn seized my arm, I thought he had lost his mind. Little did I know, he was trying to give me a heads up on this very night, at this particular moment.

“Julius” he said romantically. Easily letting the night of the party go. “I have had time to confirm what I want with you, with my sexuality, my everything.” Holding my hand steadily, smiling at me with his white hair showing so beautifully against the dark sky. “I was staring into your eyes, and I saw our future. I saw our happiness. From what my visions show me we are so in love.” He shared.

So that’s why he was staring so hard. I knew it had to be something like that.

Being so caught up in his visions, I was enthralled. The things he spoke of that were to come. The way we would feel about each other, was amazing. It was even more electrifying to know that he was able to prophecy such things.

His visions stood corrected I guess, because after talking to Chance I decided Aaronn would be the guy I would start something new with. I wasn’t going to pass this one up. I know Chance is probably watching anyway, so I better not pass this opportunity by.

“…So, will you give me a chance?” Aaronn told me. His face showed signs of begging as he held my hand to his supple lips anticipating my answer.

Hearing Aaronn say ‘chance’ sort of stung lightly, but I was able to get on with everything.

“Give you a chance for what exactly?” I said.

“A chance to make my vision reality. A chance at being your boyfriend.” He added closing eyes.

Here I am faced with a new chance, at a new life.

My answer is… “Yes! I want this.” I began to blush deeper.

I started to think of Chance’s ghostly form telling me to chase someone who could be more than what he was. Someone who could hug and kiss me, someone who was worth my beauty… Aaronn fit that description well.

Aaronn wasted no time to pull me into his grasp, and give me a supple lip lock. His kiss lasted as he crushed his essence into me. This felt like he was not only saying how much he liked me but ‘Thank you for giving me a shot.’

He yanked his head away from our kiss to breath, “I won’t let you down.” He meaningfully added. “We are official now. I already feel good about us.”

It was so cute to have a gentleman at my side. Someone who was going to try their best to see to my happiness. Someone who could see trouble years ahead and we could work our problems out before they got out of control.

I giggled when his fingers slid through the strands of my black hair, “From now on,” he lowered his tone to a soft flowing whisper. Putting his wet lips to my ear. “We eat together, we sit together, smile together, party together, wake up together… and sleep together.”

“I’m honored.” I said picturing Aaronn cuddling next to me in my dorm room, warming my bed sheets. Waking up next to him, seeing his violet eyes, his white hair, his sophisticated ways, his mind blowing looks, his everything…

Everything I pictured sounded golden!

“Ever since we became one. I can see our future a lot clearer.” He kept playing with my hair delicately, as the Farris wheel turned in motion.

“I like where this is going.” In a way I wanted our future to be a surprise, but then again I wanted to know if it would last. “What do you see Mr. Psychic? Don’t give me too many details. I want some things to be surprises.”

Being brief, Aaronn sighed, “I agree with you on that. I won’t spoil any surprises for you. I will be brief.” He told me. I could feel a casual but sexy voice coming on. “I can’t see every tiny thing right now, but I do see where we will be in love.”

“Really? What else do you see?”

“No! I can’t tell you that. Remember, some things are suppose to be surprises.” He laughed richly.

“You are so mean.” I pretended to pout. Folding my arms.

“Aww don’t be mad Juli.” He wrapped himself around me. Giving our bodies a feel for each other. “You made the rules. Plus some things are better left unknown until their appropriate time. Sometimes ruining the element of surprise can put a cloud over things…okay?” he tried to squeeze my cheek but I moved. “Okay? so don’t pout at me cutie.”

I guess he was right. If he were to sit here and tell me everything about our future being in a relationship, then it would be boring. We would already know what was coming before it came, and that would make us break up quicker than anything.

His body was beginning to get closer. His body was giving a miraculous charge to mine. Not the exact same as Chance’s but in some way better. In ways I couldn’t bring myself to explain just yet.

I know Chance is watching. I know he is probably happy that I am happy. I know that he is proud to see that I am living life, and taking ‘Chances’.

Who knows he could have been the shooting star passing by earlier when the Farris wheel first started to take off. He was probably passing by to check and make sure I was moving on with life.

‘Chance if you are watching…I wanted to say thanks. Thanks for everything.’

Aaronn being the thoughtful guy he is, put his arm behind my head. Drawing me to him in a snuggle. While the ride spun, I was smiling as I thought about how my life had recovered, and was growing in the right direction.

Suddenly a night air’s breeze blew across the wheel. Aaronn’s icy white hair fluffed in the light wind. His arm held me protectively tight.

That’s when I saw it. I saw something so familiar to heart.

A white petal went blowing in a flipping motion overhead. I don’t think Aaronn paid attention to it, but I soon realized the white petal had a pink tip on it. One of the exact same petals Chance transformed into when I casted the ‘After Life’ enchantment on his dead body.

Seeing the unique petal had to be a sure sign from Chance himself. Letting me know he was watching over my happiness, and he was still around like he said he would be.

As much as he and Aaronn argued. The petal was a sure sign of his approval to my new life. His approval meant the most to me. He knew Aaronn was the next best guy for me.

The seal of confirmation had come through a floating white, pink tipped petal floating on a breeze, something simple, and yet can easily be overlooked but it was the one simple thing that had a powerful symbolic meaning.

It was the thing that I knew held my decision in the rightful place.

An unexpected kiss from Aaronn’s lips broke my daze from the petal. I pressed my face to his letting my lips get tickled by his wet warm mouth.

We were right for each other.

I said it,

Aaronn said it,

The visions proved it.

Even Chance said it, without actually saying it. (The petal)

If anybody else knew they would approve and applaud us.

Aaronn was the cherry to top the difficult life. Whatever comes at me I will be well prepared. The future was on my side, the future was at my side.

Each tender kiss of his, and every romancing touch of his… was a solid reminder of how amazing we are, and how amazing we are bound to be.

My Enchanted Life, was now a Charmed Life.

Loved it. :) I appreciate how all the characters were kind of 'bad guys,' too; it was refreshing when every other main character in other stories is always the goody-goody hero. I just wish those awful parents had been taught more of a lesson. :P
thank you so much for reading. his parents were so horrible. but I am glad that they are out of his life... I get tired of reading from the heroes point of view sometimes so I like to give people something different to read and take in. :) I hope you continue to support me. :)

I can safely say I really do like this story, it's a pretty good read. One i would recommend to others if given the chance.

At first I was a little put off by the kids, he made me think, Brat....

:D but he was lovable.

I was sad about chase, although not as sad as the character....

and wasn't sure which boy he'd pick, although since shadow boy and mind boy had a thing for him....

heck you could tell they all had a thing for him, Chance all of them... even if he couldn't tell

I mean no one sleeps consistantly in another guys bed every night...unless they have a thing for him...

I did thoroughly enjoy the story...

and actually did hope him and Chance would get together... -_- i should have known better.
