My Poetry Prompts - 3. Lyric 8-6-8-6 Rise & Shine!

It's still so dark. Can it be time?

No marimba chant yet.

Must be a little numbered hour.

Turn over. Sleep a while.

Absence of responding body.

Consciousness prods awake.

Move your ass! Put on the kettle!

Tea and new things call out.

Ignore my question if you wish, but is the responding body yours or another's? I was thinking of it as the disconnection and near-paralysis one feels in the early morning sometimes... I love the marimba reference and the unspecific optimism of "new things" !
Another's, but I like how you have interpreted it too. Thanks for the comments.

I can relate to this in a couple of ways. I particularly like the motivation at the end with 'new things to come'. Every day is worth getting up for...(and tea or coffee can sure help sometimes). Thanks for sharing this Jaro.

Thanks for reading and reviewing. I had almost forgotten these efforts and it was fun to read them again and especially all the encouraging reviews. So thanks, Arazon, for lighting that spark again.
