Young Words From An Old Heart - 7. Chapter 7: Gauntlet
by bugeye
What does all this mean
This gauntlet of abuse
This challenge of adverse
Constriction
This devastation of dream
This display of
Congress
This dawn of dark desire
Always one mood or another
Call this one discovery
Surface personality
A multitude of things loosely together
Wording words together
A blanket of descriptions
Indefinable, the elusive
Images that are more than content
A new poem maybe
Cut from the scraps left over
Is there explanation for the obtuse
Intellect
Trouble all the time
Outside world
Inside my blanket
This bitter magic of mind
This unleashing deluge
It comes from everywhere now
This word drowning flood
This breath under water
This red water of life
Awakening awareness
Keening sounds marking
Down the spine mocking
This hurting and hurting
Over and over
This self mutilation
Torment caresses
Torture embraces
This poem that never stops
Spelling holding fixing
The emerging self
This pain of joy
This word jazz
This lazy jazz
Of satisfaction
This never never love
This constant erection
This you
