Love Looked at Me and Laughed and other poems - 2. come dance

.

Poem No. 3

You’ve found a place in me,

I didn’t know was there.

Where light dances with me,

and all else seems fair.

A place I’ve never known,

nearer to each than his own.

What a surprise to discover,

that life is about Me.

You’ve found the place in me,

where I never want to be alone.

Come dance with me,

and be my own.

Poem No. 4

Prelude:

No act, no game

none I swear

what I feel now

is in no way fair

You trust me not

you doubt my heart

no pain can be greater

than to never have that

Stop it, don’t you know

with every word, with every look

the feeling only grows

and deeper into the Misery you send me

It’s no act, no game

what fool would practice

self-mutilation

for the thought of love

Poem:

How can I say it now

that it seems not untrue

those simple words

that are said too much to be true

I love you in simple truth

no torture could be as sweet

those simple words

that are too much to be true

Postlude:

Don’t fear me,

my Love,

and fear not my love

I didn’t live

before you

but hold you dearer than my life

II.

Let go of the fear

and open your eyes

I am what you see

I am what you want

They are all wonderful, but 3  touches me most deeply.  because there are several people on this planet who have found those places within me.. it's a wonderful poem, AC. Thank you.

You're very good to read my stuff and offer encouragement. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

the Postlude is so, pure (?) and simple

like the verse in Chapter 1 that could be the note sent with flowers, this could be written into someone's marriage vows

your work never fails to move me,  again, thank you for sharing them, and trusting us with them

Thank you, Molly. I think you're right about these poems containing a directness. It seemed to me at the time that there wasn't a moment to lose.

Thanks again

These poems touch on all the elements of being close to another person, self discovery , being secure enough to feel insecure , to be forthright and even a little demanding.

Wow, I love your assessment, deville! I guess we can be a little demanding at such moments, huh...

Thanks for reading and commenting. They're very much appreciated.
