Love Looked at Me and Laughed and other poems - 4. like hope begging to dream

.

Poem No. 7

I want to be

what I see reflected

in your eyes.

Poem No. 8

Prelude:

I love you as the

Morning loves the Night

as Earth loves the Rain

as Birds love their Flight

I want my words

to be like daggers through your heart

I want each one

to kill the person you once were

to be replaced

with the one who only loves me more

For I love you as the

Seaside loves the Sea

as Snow loves the Cold;

like joining Lovers at parting

Like Hope begging to Dream

I love you as all of these

love me.

Poem:

There in your dulcet kiss

I search for the Never

hoping I do not miss

your taste of Forever

Poem No. 9

Sweet Murderer of my heart

Kind kidnapper of my senses

My only wish is that you never return

That which you took.

Thank I was taken immediately by Poem 7. Poems 7 and 8 pull me upward, as the sun warmed air lifts a drifting bit of down, or lets a bird soar. But number 9 brings be back to earth, as rain falls under grey skies, or tears in a dark room. And now I am sad with you.

Thank you, dear @Parker Owens! These comments are beautiful poetry in their own right. It's always wonderful to know you are reading and thinking about my poems :)

8 and 9 are both wonderful ... but it is 7 that touches me most deeply.   i know it well, that feeling ... feel it often in those most intimate of times ...  a beautiful trio AC. Thank you. xoxo

Thank you for your beautiful comments, Tim. No. 7 I chose to use as the book's epigraph; so I feel its specialness too :)
