Tom and I - 2. Night Out

Charlie gets a visit from a friend and explores the nightlife in Taernsby.

I woke up at the sound of the alarm clock and opened my eyes. It took me a moment to remember where I was - my surroundings looked nothing like my old tiny room in the city. Even though it was my second week here, some mornings I would still catch myself forgetting where I am.

That’s not to say I didn’t enjoy my new home. I was never one of those people who can’t fall asleep when they change the bed. On the contrary, I always enjoyed it.

I was also a big fan of my new bedroom. I chose the one on the northern side of the house, as it was cooler and a bit bigger. It had a nice, large bed with a big headboard, a nice closet with plenty of room for my wardrobe, an armchair that I would probably never use and a desk under the window. I didn’t change much in it, as I was happy with how it was arranged. I just brought my own sheets, pillows and blankets.

Also, I removed the old-fashioned paintings from the walls put up my own posters and a large picture of an owl sitting in a tree, which I really liked. Don’t ask me why, it was just beautiful and mysterious. One day I’ll have to find out what species it is.

Both bedrooms were a bit too dark for my taste, so I decided I’d have to the paint the walls white to make them appear brighter. Or rather, I’d have someone do it because I didn’t trust myself with painting. I’d probably ruin the walls and spray the paint all over the furniture.

I still remember when I was a teenager and my parents decided to paint our apartment. I almost collapsed when I entered my room and found little drops of white paint all over my Lord of the Rings posters that were on the door! Somehow, mom and dad didn’t think to cover them up. I had to take a moment to catch my breath and then carefully took them down and cleaned them. My lovely Legolas and Aragorn were once again as good as new!

Unlike the bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen-slash-dining room had big windows facing east and south, letting plenty of sunlight in. If anyone told me a year ago I’d be sitting in my kitchen and enjoying the view of my backyard, with a nice lawn and big walnut trees, I’d ask them if they were high. But now that’s exactly what I was doing. It was a sight to see!

It was Saturday, so I made some quick breakfast - milk and cereal, toast and fruit. I hadn’t yet decided what I’d have for lunch, still annoyed that there was no takeout place that did home deliveries. Is it possible that everyone here cooks for themselves?!

As I sat and ate, I found myself thinking about Tom again. It turned out he didn’t come to pick up his niece every day. I only saw him one other time - on Thursday, but didn’t get a chance to talk to him. Kayla and he had already started leaving the school grounds when I came out of the building. He did see me and waved, flashing that goofy smile of his. I can’t even remember what I did at that moment. I think I waved back, or maybe I shouted that I think he’s super cute and I wanna kiss him all over. God, I hope it wasn’t the latter!

After that first day, I started walking to work rather than driving. It took me less than ten minutes to get there. I have to admit, I enjoyed the morning walk, as short as it was. It felt strangely liberating to just be able to go to work - and really anywhere else - by foot, and not having to get stuck in traffic and look for parking spots every day. I might just get used to this.

After I had my morning meal, I decided to go out and see if there’s anything I could do in the yard. There were no animals, but there were several ancillary buildings - a large shed, a chicken coop and a pigsty. I still hadn’t inspected them to see if there was anything left inside them. I could only hope no stray or wild animals had come and made themselves at home there.

As I went out, dressed in a simple t-shirt and shorts, with my sunglasses on, I realized I had forgotten to buy sunscreen. Even though it was still morning, it was sunny and I had no doubt it would be a very hot day. So, I popped back inside to grab my wallet and was soon on my way to the store. I knew there was one near the town centre, so I decided to head over there. It only took me a few minutes.

The lady at the register greeted me and I could tell she was curious. She knew I wasn’t from around and was probably dying to get to know all about me. Actually, since the Taernsby townsfolk were better informed than Google, she probably already did know all about me.

I browsed the shelves for a few minutes, picking up some groceries and stuff I needed for the house - a few light bulbs, kitchen towels, things of that nature. I had a friend coming over and I needed to make some dinner, so I made sure to buy enough food. Moving to the toiletries section, I was disappointed to find only SPF 15 sunscreen. I took one bottle just in case and headed to the cash register, prepared for the inevitable third degree by the cashier. When I got there, I saw her engaged in conversation with another customer. Maybe I’m saved!

As I stood there and waited, it became clear that the cashier had no intention of ending the conversation with the other woman any time soon. She scanned her items at a snail’s pace as the two gossiped about a girl from the town who married a guy who was supposedly a drunkard and a gambler. After about five minutes, I decided to speak up.

“Excuse me, could you maybe speed things up a bit? I’ve been waiting here for a while,” I asked as politely as I could, since I was so irritated.

“What’s the rush, hun? It’s Saturday,” the cashier asked. The nametag on her shirt said ‘Susan’. She was a fat, middle-aged woman, just like the customer. They both had a bad case of perm on their heads.

“You’re the little Greyston kid, aren’t you?” the other woman asked, pointing at me and smiling.

“Yes, I am.”

“Old Rose was a lovely woman, and so was Peter,” Susan the cashier said, addressing the customer as if I wasn’t even there. “I used to buy eggs from them sometimes.”

“May they rest in peace,” the woman replied. “Remember she used to make those delicious cinnamon-”

Yes, they were lovely people,” I said, clearly irritated by now.

The other woman obviously picked up on it, as she packed her stuff in a bag, said goodbye and left. The cashier huffed and started scanning my items, avoiding eye contact. She wasn’t happy that I chased away her gossip buddy.

“Anything else?” she asked, looking as if she wanted to stab me in the face.

“Yes, you wouldn’t happen to have SPF 30 or 50, would you?”

“If you haven’t seen it, we don’t have it,” she shrugged.

“That would be it then,” I said, swiping my card. “And one tip for you, maybe you could try being polite to your customers.”

“Haven’t had any complaints so far,” she shook her head, “other than from Your Majesty.”

“Really? I find it hard to believe people aren’t flocking in droves to other stores.”

Other stores?” the woman laughed, all of the fat on her body shaking. “Yeah, good luck with that, hun! I think you’ll come running back here, and next time you’ll wait in line!”

She chuckled to herself and pulled out a magazine from under the counter, reading it an ignoring me.

Great. Just great, I cursed myself as I walked back home. I had to get into an argument in the only store in town, and knowing my luck, that woman is the owner. Can’t wait to hear all the gossip she’ll tell about me to anyone who would listen! By this time next week, half the town will probably have heard the tale of the worst customer she ever had.

I didn’t dwell too much on that, though, as I had dinner to prepare. Even though I thought Jae or Alison would be the first to come visit me, they were beaten to the punch by Travis. He was a cute African-American guy I met in college. We had some classes together and quickly hit it off. Before the end of the first year, we had become friends with benefits, hooking up on occasion to satisfy our needs.

Travis was a good guy, but a little exhausting to be with for more than few hours at a time. He was a proper chatterbox, never shutting up - one of those guys who could make small talk with total strangers with ease. Not only that, but he was so full of energy, it was really hard to keep up with him. His ideal date would probably consist of rock climbing, parachuting and then descending into a volcano just for good measure. Not that we’ve ever been on a proper date. We had this silent agreement that we were better off as just fuck buddies. It worked fine for us so far.

I always found it weird that he studied to become a teacher. I was sure that if he wanted to have a career as a stuntman, he’d be mega successful at it.

Anyways, when I told him I’d moved to the country, he was very eager to come and see for himself. I’m pretty sure all he wanted was to scope out good places for hiking or running. That, and to have sex!

Who was I to say no?

Travis arrived around four, as I was in the middle of making dinner. I knew he liked grilled chicken and veggies - who didn’t? - so I made a big batch. Also, that was one of the few things I knew how to prepare.

“Knock knock, is Mr. Landowner here?” I could hear Travis calling out as he approached the front door.

“No, but I’m house-sitting for him,” I shot back, letting him in.

He flashed his big, white smile and pulled me into a hug. As usual, he looked good - tall and lanky, dressed in faded jeans and a simple black t-shirt. He was by no means the hottest guy around, but his confident and relaxed demeanor made him very attractive.

We hugged it out and exchanged pleasantries. I realized we hadn’t seen each other in at least two months and was looking forward to catching up.

“Man, something smells good! Did you go and become a proper housewife behind my back?!” Travis teased as I led him into the dining room.

“That’s a movie you won’t be seeing anytime soon,” I rolled my eyes. “It’s not everyday I have such distinguished guests, so I thought I’d make dinner.”

“Sweet! So how are you adapting to the country life?”

“It’s been a learning experience, I guess,” I shrugged.

I started telling Travis all about my move as I served dinner. There was grilled chicken, brown bread, and a mix of vegetables - peas, carrots, green beans, rice and corn. And a bottle of nice red wine to top it all off!

I avoided mentioning Tom. Not because I thought Travis would be jealous, but because I didn’t think it was important. Nothing even happened between us. Yet.

Travis laughed like a maniac when I told him about my experience at the store. Maybe I was overthinking it. So what if I complained to the woman? That doesn’t mean I can’t show my face there anymore.

“So I take it this place doesn’t exactly have a thriving nightlife, huh?”

“The only thing thriving here at night are bats and owls,” I replied. “Tho I hear there’s a bar up north.”

“Nice! Should we go and check it out?” he asked, giving me a mischievous smile.

“Seriously?” I frowned. I somehow imagined it was full of pensioners playing cards, listening to Cotton Eyed Joe and talking about weather and crops. I admit, I can be prejudiced. I’m only human.

“Yeah, why not? We’ll have a few beers, have a laugh, and if it’s dull we’ll come back and have some fun on our own,” he wiggled his eyebrows.

I approached him and we locked lips. He was a great kisser, there was no denying that. We were both versatile in bed, so our ‘fun time’ was always amazing. I loved both positions and didn’t understand why I should limit myself to being just top or bottom. I was happy that he completely agreed with me on that.

So, after some hot French kissing, we changed into something more presentable and went out to find this mythical bar - probably the only such venue in Taernsby. It was located a bit further from the town centre and had a simple sign above it that said ‘BAR’ in big, yellow letters. How imaginative!

I had to admit, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. Even though we were definitely among the younger guests, the other patrons weren’t on their deathbed as I feared. Most of them were in their late twenties or early thirties, along with a few older couples, probably in their forties.

The atmosphere was lively, with popular music blasting on the speakers, mostly top 40 radio hits. Another pleasant surprise.

All eyes were on us as Travis and I walked in. I don’t know if it was because we were new faces or because people might have assumed we were a couple. Anyway, after a few moments everyone went back to their conversations, which I was happy about.

Travis and I went to the bar and ordered a couple of beers to start the evening off. We found an empty table and moved to it, which was when the most pleasant surprise of the night happened - I saw Tom with some guys sitting at a table across the room. I was lucky to be sitting down because I immediately started feeling a tingling sensation in my crotch. He looked very different than the previous times I saw him, wearing a nice, plaid shirt and dark pants. He caught my eye and smiled, and I blushed like a little girl, smiling back. I felt as if I was caught snooping through a keyhole.

“He’s cute! Who is he?” Travis asked loudly, noticing me glancing over at Tom every few minutes.

“What? Oh, that’s Tom. He’s the uncle to one of the kids from my class,” I explained through a smile.

“You wanna go and say hi? I don’t mind waiting for ya… As long as you come back, though,” he winked.

“Nah, that’s ok, he’s with his friends. And besides, I don’t even know him that well, we barely spoke,” I replied.

Travis just rolled his eyes and smiled. He knew the real reason: I was nervous as fuck. But I also didn’t want to embarrass Tom - maybe he wasn’t out to his friends. Hell, maybe he wasn’t gay at all. Though my gaydar is pretty good, and with the way he was looking at me, it beeped pretty loudly!

We stayed at the ‘Bar’ a few more hours and then decided to call it a night. While we were walking out, I exchanged another look with Tom. This time, I waved to him and he waved back. He looked adorable and I hoped to see him again very soon.

When we got home, Travis and I quickly shed our clothes and tumbled over to the bed. We were all over each other. Under the effect of alcohol, and feeling horny from seeing Tom and kissing Travis earlier that day, I was so in the mood for some action, so I readily dropped down to my knees and started sucking on Travis’ big, meaty tool. It was eight inches and dark like chocolate - and tasted even better. I loved it!

I sucked on it for a while, when he lifted me up and got us both on the bed, in the sixty-nine position. Travis was an ass guy, so he didn’t spend much time on my cock and balls. Instead, he lowered his head down to my hole and ate it out vigorously, lapping at it with his tongue and covering it in spit. As I sucked on his big balls, he prodded with his tongue in my ass, driving me crazy. He was an expert and he knew it.

“Ready to be filled?” he asked me in a husky voice as he got up on his knees and positioned himself between my legs.

“I’ve been ready for a while now,” I closed my eyes and waited.

He wrapped and lubed up, placing his heavy dick at my entrance and slowly pushing it in. I held my breath. I hadn’t had sex in months, and his size didn’t help matters. Still, I knew it wouldn’t hurt for long. He knew how to fuck me just right.

It wasn’t long before his slow movements sped up and he began thrusting into me, making the bed rock with the force of his thrusts. I panted and moaned, loving the feeling of his big meat filling me up completely. When he lowered his head and started kissing me hard, I knew he was close. As our tongues grinded against each other and we moaned into each other’s mouths, he delivered a series of sharp thrusts, shooting his load inside me.

He lay beside me to catch his breath, but our break didn’t last long.

“Aren’t you gonna get even with me?” he asked, grabbing my junk and stroking it. He looked so hot, all sweaty and horny. He was already fully hard again, and so was I.

“You have no idea,” I smirked, pushing his legs down toward his head and smearing lube all over his hole.

Travis started to scream as I entered him, but I quickly shut him up with a kiss. Our night was just beginning.

Thank you all for reading! I look forward to your reactions.
In the next chapter, Charlie decides to visit Tom at his farm.

Thank you! ^_^ Hah, perhaps we'll see (or hear) more of Susan later. And yeah, we'll see a lot more of Tom in ch.3.

Goodness that was an eventful chapter! Thoroughly enjoyable!

So Charlie's used to the fast lane in the city and got mad at the slow cashier - he showed restraint, I thought! A member of the Glitterati might have used at least three different swear words to get his feelings across when she smugly reminded him that they were the only shop around. 😤

Charlie's a decent cook! That's already arousing in its own way! And red wine. Ahh. ❤️

I enjoyed Travis! And their brief sex scene was... intense! ;)

Charlie's infatuation with Tom feels organic and relatable. I'm super keen to read more! ❤️ Thank you for the chapter! Good stuff!

Ooh yes, Charlie was not in the mood to stand in line and listen to gossip - no offense to retail workers who do their job well! :)

I'm glad you like Travis, we may see him again.

Thanks for the lovely words! ^_^

I love it when a story pulls me in with the first chapter. I follow it when it has me totally intrigued by the second! Can't wait for more! Excellent writing!

I’m stuck on Susan. Just because it’s the only store around doesn’t give her the right to hold customers hostage. She could’ve checked that lady out and kept gossiping while she rang Charlie up. And she’s probably petty af as well — liable to go on break when Charlie gets to the register. Ugh. This would be my luck.

I’m already planning his speech: “Susan? Girl? I’m here to stay. So you can not like me all you want to, but as you so aptly pointed out, this is the only game in town. I’m gonna keep coming here. Let’s call it an effing draw and get on with it. Life is too short to hold grudges.”

Oh I totally agree, people like Susan should not be working with customers! Charlie will have his own way of dealing with her next time! ;)

Oh, such a nice visit with his friend Travis! But what a way for Charlie to put his foot in it at the store. What a pity Travis can’t stay...

Charlie may learn (to his chagrin) on his next shopping trip that 'sounds' seem to travel farther in the quiet country. That's a reason to keep the car to visit other shops.
