James Songbook - 14. The Blight Before Christmas

Meh... some political content.

The Blight Before Christmas

Twas the blight before Christmas and all through the land,
Everyone was sneezing and coughing by damn,
A Chinese virus has arisen in our winter of discontent,
That kills grannies and grams and makes us insolent.

Our solons so wise want to write us a check,
To make us all right,
To help us through this accursed blight,
Just as soon as they pay off every other soul on the planet,
We'll get our lump of coal, god dammit.

They shovel the cash to Egypt, to Pakistan, to the crooked Ukraine,
They call us racists and xenophobic if we complain,
Those politicians know their relatives will get paid,
While at home our goose is cooked and mortgage delayed.

Congress you bastards, get this and get this well,
Your time is coming, we're pissed as hell!
