Poems of Time - 1. Right Moment

Mind racing at a million miles a minute
From the foot tapping, fingers tapping
To standing and just pacing back and forth
Walking in circles contemplating,
Sitting down, trying to pick up meditation

Time passes and now you’re calm
You took your moment to breathe
Now take your moment to thrive
Take what you should’ve already had

No more being overlooked, unappreciated
No more living in the shadow of others
It’s not how you pictured
Hell, it’s not how you wanted
But it’s here now saver it, enjoy it

Soak it all in because now that you have it
Never let it go. Don’t worry if you earned it
Don't worry if you deserve it, just be grateful
The fact that you’ve been blessed with it
The fact that you’ve been cursed with it
The fact that this is indeed the right moment.

As of today, February 4th, it's now officially eight years since my Mom passed. I was in my second year of college. Although she's no longer here physically, she's definitely here with me in spirit. Happy heavenly homecoming Mom.

Love all you guys, keep spreading love, positivity, and remember to continue being safe out here during this pandemic. In about a week it'll be Mama Stone's birthday, my niece's birthday, and Valentine's Day. Triple whammy!

I have to say, I just love your poems.  This one especially.  Life is all about the right moment.  I was already a bit emotional when I read the poem and then I read the "after".  I have never been a big fan of Feb. 14.  Everyone is always shocked...me the holiday person and everyone in the community knows it.  32 years...that is how long it has been since my Grandmother left this earth.  We had an extremely special bond.  (long story)  Anyway, I have lost 2 dear friends and my Grandmother on the 14th...so there is not much love for that day (at least for me).  And March will be 3 years since my Mother passed.  3 long years.  It doesn't matter if you are young or old, when your Mother leaves, it is simply devastating.  This poem and the quiet reflection did it for me.  Put some things in perspective...and yes, it is indeed "the right moment".  Thank you my friend....I needed all of this today!!!!!:heart::heart:

Thank you @Patch1 for your kind words as always, I’m sorry for your loss. Sending positive vibes & love in your direction. It’s not easy when all that happens around the same time of the year. Just remember you’re strong & that you’re never alone. I’m so glad my poems have brought you a little comfort in your time of need just as your words have done for me.

This is an incredibly moving piece. I didn't lose my Mom as early as you, but I did lose her 7 years ago. My husband and I still have her urn on the piano she and my Dad played when I was growing up. Thank you for creating and sharing this.
