A Journey to Egypt - 13. Chapter 13

A Journey to Egypt

If true be told

After a delightful evening with Omar, the trio felt renewed joy and relaxation. The time spent together had been excellent. Reginald and Alexander were visibly happier, and Omar was definitely more relaxed. Omar returned to his room to wake up Kareem and get ready to go to breakfast.

After breakfast, as Reginald and Alexander lounged comfortably on the sun deck with Kareem and Omar sitting in chairs by the railing, Alexander thoughtfully turned to Reginald and spoke softly. "If we get lots of money from this, we should ask Omar to return with us to England."

Reginald leaned back in his chair, gazing thoughtfully at the horizon. "You know," he began, "if Omar had his own money, he might feel obligated to do something else. Remember the story he told of his childhood? He would have the freedom to make his own choices."

Alexander nodded, understanding the sentiment. "True, but I would hate it if he did leave, Reggie. He has become such an important part of our lives."

Reginald smiled at Alexander’s new nickname for him. His smile quickly faded and Reginald sighed, a mix of emotions playing across his face. "I just want him to be happy, whether with us or pursuing his own path. But the thought of him leaving… it would be hard to bear."

Alexander reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Reginald's shoulder. "We will cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, let us focus on enjoying our time together and making the most of this incredible journey."

Reginald smiled, feeling a bit more at ease. "You are right, Alex. Let us cherish our moments together and see where the future takes us." Alexander’s face looked startled, but quickly changed to the cutest smile Reggie had ever seen. Alex definitely liked his new nickname.

The two lovers sat in companionable silence, sipping their drinks and watching the scenery pass by. Their bond with Omar was strong, and they prayed that whatever the future held, they all would face it together.

"I own my grandmother's manor house in the countryside. We could be incredibly happy living there." Reginald commanded Alex's attention as he began to describe the manor house. "Imagine, my dearesst Alex," he started, his voice smooth and cultured, "a grand estate nestled amidst rolling hills and lush gardens. The manor is a testament to timeless elegance, with its stately columns and expansive windows inviting the golden sunlight to dance across the polished marble floors."

He continued, his eyes gleaming with enthusiasm, "The entrance hall is adorned with intricate tapestries and a magnificent chandelier that casts a warm, inviting glow. Each room is a masterpiece of design, from the opulent drawing room with plush furnishings and grand piano to the library, where shelves of ancient tomes beckon the curious mind."

Reginald's description painted a vivid picture, capturing the essence of the manor's grandeur and charm. "And the gardens, Alex," he added with a smile, "are a paradise unto themselves, with winding paths, fragrant blooms, and a serene pond that reflects the beauty of the surroundings. It is a place where one can truly escape and find solace."

With his chestnut brown hair and piercing blue eyes, Alexander listened intently, captivated by Reginald's eloquent portrayal. As Reginald described it, the manor house seemed like a dream brought to life and was a perfect setting for them to live in!

Alexander looked deeply into Reginald's crystal blue eyes and nodded in agreement. "Omar is a good chap. Having him with us would be perfect. Besides, he is such a beast in bed," he added with a playful grin.

The idea of a future together in the serene countryside, away from the dangers they had faced, filled them with hope and excitement. They knew that with Omar by their side, their lives would be enriched with love, adventure, and happiness.

The ship set off just after breakfast, its steam engines humming softly as it glided along the Nile. The morning sun cast a golden glow over the water, creating a serene and picturesque scene. Reginald stood at the railing, his eyes sparkling with anticipation. Their next stop was the Temple of Horus, a place he had been eagerly looking forward to visiting.

The Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved ancient monuments in Egypt, promised to be a highlight of their journey. Reginald's excitement was palpable as he imagined exploring the grand halls and intricate carvings dedicated to the falcon-headed god. Picturing himself in a place steeped in such rich history filled him with awe and curiosity.

As the ship sailed smoothly towards their destination, Reginald could not help but share his enthusiasm with Alexander and Omar. "I can not wait to see the Temple of Horus," he said, his voice brimming with excitement. "It's going to be incredible."

Alexander smiled, sharing in Reginald's excitement. "It will be amazing," he agreed. "I've heard so much about its grandeur and the stories it holds."

Omar nodded, his eyes twinkling with knowledge. "The Temple of Horus is truly a marvel. You will both be enchanted by its beauty and history."

Reginald could not contain his excitement as they approached their next stop. "I just can't hide the fact that I am so keen about this next stop," he exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.

The men decided to go to the bar, where they each grabbed a refreshing drink. With their beverages in hand, they returned to the sun deck and found a comfortable spot in the shade. The gentle breeze and the sound of the river created a perfect backdrop for their conversation.

As they settled into their seats, Reginald continued to share his thoughts. "The Temple of Horus is going to be incredible. I have read so much about it, but seeing it in person will be a unique experience."

Alexander nodded, sipping his drink. "I agree. There is something magical about these ancient sites. They hold so much history and mystery."

Omar, always the knowledgeable guide, added, "The Temple of Horus is one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Its carvings and inscriptions tell fascinating stories about the gods and the people who worshipped them."

The friends sat back, savoring their drinks as they soaked in the ambiance of the sun deck. The gentle sway of the vessel and the warm sunlight created a perfect setting for their gathering. They watched the scenery pass by, each landmark sparking a new conversation or a shared memory.
As they clinked their glasses in a toast to the adventure awaiting them, they enjoyed the shared camaraderie and excitement filling the air. The anticipation of the journey ahead was palpable, and they felt a deep bond, knowing that whatever lay ahead, they would face it together. The sundeck, with its panoramic views and serene atmosphere, was the ideal place to dream about the adventures to come.

The ship's Steward passed by, and Reginald requested the kitchen send up four tomato and cheese sandwiches for lunch and four iced teas. The Steward quickly replied, "I will see to it immediately."

The sandwiches arrived quickly, accompanied by refreshing iced tea. As they began to eat, Reginald's demeanor shifted. He looked nervously at Omar and Alexander, his hands fidgeting slightly. After finishing his lunch, Kareem asked to be excused to nap and left for his room.

Reginald found his mind drifting back again to the attic of his grandmother's manor home, where he discovered his spiritual gift during a pivotal moment in his youth. He was about twelve years old, spending a summer at his grandmother's manor house in the countryside. The manor was filled with ancient artifacts and family heirlooms, each with a story.

While exploring the attic one evening, Reginald came across an old, dusty chest. Inside, he found a beautifully crafted amulet adorned with symbols he did not recognize. Intrigued, he put it on, feeling an inexplicable connection to the object.

That night, Reginald had a vivid dream. He found himself in a vast, moonlit desert, standing before a towering figure with the head of a falcon. The figure introduced himself as Khonsu, the god of the moon, and spoke to Reginald about his family's ancient lineage and their connection to the spiritual world. Khonsu revealed that Reginald had inherited a unique ability to communicate with the divine and sense supernatural presences.

When Reginald awoke, he felt a profound change within himself. He noticed subtle signs and symbols in his surroundings, guiding him and providing insights. Over time, he learned to trust his instincts and embrace his gift, though he kept it a closely guarded secret, fearing that others might not understand or believe him.

This discovery marked the beginning of Reginald's journey into the world of the supernatural, shaping his path and fueling his passion for ancient history and archaeology. The gifts also showed him that Alexander was unique and his bonded lover.

"There's something I need to tell you," Reginald said, his voice tinged with apprehension. He took a deep breath, gathering his thoughts. "I've been hiding something I've been afraid to share."

Omar and Alexander exchanged concerned glances, their attention entirely on Reginald. "What is it?" Alexander asked gently, placing a reassuring hand on Reginald's arm.

Reginald hesitated for a moment before continuing. "I have a spiritual gift. I can connect with the divine and sense supernatural presence. It is something I inherited from my ancestors, and it is how I was able to sense Khonsu and call upon him to help Kareem."

The sun deck fell silent as Omar and Alexander absorbed this revelation. Omar was the first to speak, his voice filled with understanding. "Reginald, that is incredible. You do not have to be afraid to share this with us. We are here for you, no matter what."

Alexander nodded in agreement. "We are a team, Reggie. Your gift is a part of who you are, and we accept you completely."

Reginald experienced a profound sense of relief and gratitude. He had been worried about how his friends would react, but their unwavering support and acceptance reassured him. The moment highlighted the strength of their bond and friendship as they prepare to face future challenges together. Reginald's declaration of love for Alexander and Omar underscored their deep emotional connection. Reginald told them about discovering his powers as a youth and exploring his grandmother's attic. Omar and Alexander's reactions to Reginald's revelation were filled with understanding and support.

Omar's eyes widened slightly in surprise, but his expression quickly softened to admiration and respect. "Reginald, that's incredible," he said, his voice steady and reassuring. "You do not have to be afraid to share this with us. We are here for you, no matter what." His words carried a deep sense of loyalty and acceptance, making it clear that he valued Reginald's honesty and trusted him implicitly.

Alexander, always the steady presence, reached out and placed a reassuring hand on Reginald's arm. "We're a team, Reginald," he said, his voice warm and comforting. "Your gift is a part of who you are, and we accept you completely." His eyes held a mixture of pride and affection, showing that he admired Reginald's courage in sharing such a personal part of himself.

Omar and Alexander's reactions were filled with empathy and support, reinforcing their strong bond with Reginald. Their acceptance and encouragement helped ease Reginald's fears, making him feel more confident and secure in his abilities. They hugged each other. Reginald looked at his watch. It was time for dinner!
