A Journey to Egypt - 18. Chapter 18

A Journey to Egypt

Epilogue

They arrived late in the evening, weary from their journey but filled with a sense of accomplishment. After checking into the hotel, they wasted no time ordering a bottle of gin and tonic with lime and a pot of tea. And dinner, which Omar enjoyed ordering. The room was soon filled with the comforting aroma of freshly brewed tea and the crisp scent of gin. And fine Egyptian food, which they dearly loved. They made drinks for themselves, savoring the refreshing taste, and poured a cup of tea for Omar, who gratefully accepted it. Meanwhile, Kareem was off selling the treasure, his expertise ensuring they would get the best possible price. The evening was a mix of relaxation and anticipation as they reflected on their adventures and looked forward to the rewards awaited them.
They each took turns taking baths. In the meantime, Reginald and Alexander drank half the bottle of gin, which made them easy targets for Omar's rampant desires. He helped them out of their clothes and into the bed, where he made passionate love to them, both enjoying every second of it. Reginald and Alexander had fallen asleep. Omar lay there with a smile, thinking that this was how he wanted to spend the rest of his life, just like this!

In the morning, they gathered for breakfast, enjoying the peaceful start to their day. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the air as they chatted and laughed, relishing the simple pleasures of the moment. Later, they met up with Kareem at a quaint coffee café. Kareem led them to a cozy table in the corner of the shop, away from prying eyes. Alexander placed on the table the fake Beetle and spoke. "We still have this to remind us of our adventure!" and smiled, and the others smiled as well.
"I know many wealthy individuals, and they all wanted to bid on each item," Kareem began, his eyes gleaming excitedly. "By the time we were finished with the auctions and the gem merchant, we netted 8 million pounds. 2 million pounds each, I took the money to the National Bank of Egypt, which is an English bank. If it is all right, I would like to return to England with you since my brother is going with you."
Reginald and Alexander both smiled warmly at Kareem. "We would be pleased if you would," they said in unison, their voices filled with genuine happiness. The bond they had formed during their adventures was strong, and the thought of continuing their journey brought comfort and excitement. Kareem's eyes lit up with gratitude, knowing he had found loyal friends in them. The promise of new adventures and shared experiences made the future seem bright and full of possibilities. With that, Kareem handed them a bearer bond worth 2 million pounds. The weight of the bonds in their hands was a tangible reminder of their incredible journey and the fortune they had amassed. The future seemed bright, filled with endless possibilities and new adventures.
Omar and Kareem were excited about their new adventure in England. Still, they knew they could not leave Egypt without taking a few cherished items. Each item held a special place in their hearts and reminded them of their homeland.
Omar carefully packed his grandfather's compass, an heirloom passed down through generations. The compass had guided his family through many journeys, and Omar felt a deep connection to it. He also took a handwoven rug made by his mother, its intricate patterns telling stories of their heritage. Additionally, Omar packed a small leather-bound journal where he had documented his adventures and thoughts.
On the other hand, Kareem could not part with his father's pocket watch. The watch symbolized time and the precious moments they had shared. He also took a set of ancient coins that his parents had collected over the years, each representing a piece of history. Kareem packed a beautifully crafted dagger with an ornate handle, a gift from his uncle, symbolizing strength and protection.
A few items stood out among the treasures they owned from their parents. They had a golden amulet adorned with precious stones, believed to bring good fortune and protection. There was also a bronze statue of Anubis, the ancient Egyptian god of the afterlife, which had been in their family for generations. Lastly, they had a papyrus scroll with ancient hieroglyphs, a testament to their rich cultural heritage. As they prepared for England, Omar and Kareem knew that these items would remind them of their roots and serve as a bridge between their past and future. They were ready to embark on a new journey, carrying the memories and treasures of their beloved Egypt.
Later that day, they booked passage on a ship for their return trip to England. The excitement of their upcoming journey filled the air as they made the necessary arrangements. In a few days, they would need to make their way to Alexandria, where they would catch the ship. The thought of sailing back to England, with the treasures and memories of their adventure, brought a sense of anticipation and joy. The journey ahead promised new beginnings and the comfort of home, shared with dear friends and newfound wealth.
Who knew what the future might hold!

Beneath the gaze of gods carved in stone,
Where Pharaohs once sat upon their throne,
The desert winds carry a song, a sigh,
Of pyramids reaching for the sky.

The Nile's embrace, a lifeline cast,
A story flowing from the past,
Where lotus blooms and papyrus sway,
And feluccas glide at the close of day.

In bazaars where spices and stories blend,
The soul of Egypt will never end.
Its people's warmth like the sun's own kiss,
In this land of wonder, of bliss.

O Egypt, your history is a splendid scroll,
A dance of time within its roll
Your secrets buried in golden sand,
Forever whispering of a grander land.

I must say "Historical Romance, Historical Fantasy"  are not the areas of GA that I seek out for stories that I usually read, but this was indeed an enjoyable new experience. Your characters were desirable and very intriguing, as well as the setting for this adventure. Google was my constant friend, as I dug into the setting, and the lore, history and mystery of your tale. I found myself learning quite a bit during my digging into the culture of ancient Egypt, as well as 1850's time period. I am also looking forward to your "book 2",  you have been dropping into the comments. This was an excellent story for what I understand was your first, as an author. Very well done  my friend!
