Jake's Story, Part Three of Three
Flip-Flop commented on Boy Mercury X's story chapter in Jake's Story, Part Three of Three
Part one and part 2, were a tough read for me. The cathartic process of getting past their own sheared self-guilt, was such a big step to new beginnings, outlooks, and understandings. Boon understood this process needed to take place, for both troubled men. A future visit to their Seattle home, now created a desirable feeling inside of Jake, and to this new 3 member family. I was inspired by reading your notes, at the end of this story, @Boy Mercury X. How true, they deserve that much, and more! Thanks, for sharing this bit of background with us. -
What a chapter this was, filled with details of the defeat of Louis's ambitions to conquer all of England. The news of the fall of Lincoln, spreed across the countryside like a raging fire. The surprising defeat of the French fleet destroyed the only, and last hope that Louis had left, to maintain any hold upon England. Kaylen's inspiring governance of Lincoln was greatly respected by Marshal, and therefore the realm. He along with Ronan, and Tomas had amassed great respect, of loyal, but often abused subjects throughout the land. An excellent chapter leading to the French defeat. But what will now happen about the threat poised to the north of the realm? 🤔

What are the reasons behind the apparent poor French hold upon Lincoln, that is such an important, and key city for both sides in this war? Can the royalists maintain their new hold onto this very strategic city? 🤔 Many facts need to be learned, that may help to explain Lincoln's poor conditions, and lack of strength? So much remains untold for now, but this change of control will continue to remain an important devolpment! Kaylen, Ronan, and Tomas, skillfully led the forces in this battle to take control over the city. A very exciting chapter in your tale @Albert1434❣️

🤔 Next year, due to various tax and estate planning reasons, an accountant will be my likely choice. Because nothing about dealing with taxes gets less complicated.

Gasoline is but one measure of price inflation. Utilities rate hikes, and increased property taxes have also seen some major increases. These rate hikes just add another hit to everyone's budget. I don't drive many long trips, but heat and power are daily essentials, and also tend to become long lasting.

Chapter 10 – Moving has its Moments
Flip-Flop commented on Paladin's story chapter in Chapter 10 – Moving has its Moments
Kudos to Martin for his efforts to distract Natasha's attention towards him, allowing Ben and Noah to quickly load the car with Ben's things. Ben is lucky to be moving further away from his mother's self-serving attacks and her feeble manipulation attempts. Unfortunately the twins still have to live within her "ground zero" of professed lies. Her painting of Justin as a callous sexual predator was just one of many failed attempts, to keep Ben under her complete control. Simon and Rick becoming their backdoor neighbors (so to speak ) and family, will surely make life at the house much more interesting for all! There is still a lot more for Justin and Ben to learn, about Martin's new and various situations. -
I use a HP Chromebook and have also had intermittent very slow, or sometimes non-loading of GA pages, off and on. Usually I will leave GA and go on to other sites (which never have experienced the same problem). and return later, and it works fine? This has been happening off and on for quite some time, maybe 2 weeks at least. I assumed GA was running updates to various features, like tags or such? Sorry for @ReaderPaul, but It's good to hear others are running into this same type of situation. As I have mentioned before, computer TECH is not one of my strong points.

This truce that has been mentioned, was it signed, or merely assumed? Kaylen has assembled a band of 20 with the various needed skills, and many have years of previous experience of hard fought battles. They will have to travel deep towards the French main force, with great caution. Could this extremely harsh winter be the possible result of the relic stone, wielding its influence upon these disputed lands? Hopefully the spring thaw should add much more mud and water, for the French forces and their war engines to encounter, in their advances. Louis does seem to have gained much information about the size of Marshal's gathered army, and wants to move quickly with his plans of attack, before more loyalties shift away from him. He feels the fate of England is within his grasp, but he must act with haste, to put down all opposition to his desire for the much coveted crown.

First They Came, Revised: Defined as "reconsidering your arguments, reviewing your evidence, refining your purpose, reorganizing your presentation, reviving stale prose". An evocative "out of the box" piece of poetic expression, with an eye to both the past and present. Well done, and is worthy of much more thought.

Another excellent chapter, that compels the readers to understand the vast complexity of this evolving power struggle. Many unknowns will act out of their own selfish interests. Loyalties needed to be questioned, on all sides. The support of the governed, and the role of the church clergy, will add great weight upon any future outcomes. This statement stood out to me. It reminded me of a problem in today's world.

Chapter 9 – Is Stalking OK
Flip-Flop commented on Paladin's story chapter in Chapter 9 – Is Stalking OK
After 9 chapters of setup, the train-wreck known to us as Natasha, is ready to crash her way onto the scene. She intends to dash any hopes of changes to her role as the conductor of everyone's lives. No surprises about that development. I find the self questioning over the possible reasons for the growing relationship between Martin and Nathan, will bring new twists and turns, along with some interesting changes to take place. My advice to readers is to hold on tight. The ups and downs in Martin's life, along with those that he cares about, will continue to build from here. 😇 I'm eagerly awaiting to read more chapters soon❣️ -
Gloucester held strong against the probing French and English combined forces. Louis chose not to waste more of his forces against its walls, at this point in time. He decided to strengthen his forces and unite his hold over the major cities and the coastline, during the upcoming harsh winter months. He shall return to the battle for his much desired crown, in more favorable weather. His opponents must also use this time to make their own plans, and prepare for his expected return.

I just watch a "Nova" show on PBS about the brain, and the choices we make. The quote above is truer, then you think. They stated that people who suffered from great trauma ( suffered from an extreme lack of available food, was the example used), have actually passed down behaviors via their DNA, to second and third generations. Many choices appear to be made for us by the way our brain tends to work, and are not actually a result of self made decisions. Yes in a way, from the different brain waves, coming from the dominate parts of how your own brain works. We are happy that you are here with us!

Everyone knows more about true English history than I do, but this is also a story of personal growth, gaining wisdom, and wisely picking your own battles. I love how this story continues to add needed depth, with each chapter! Well done. Thanks❣️

Thanks to @Summerabbacat's comments, this chapter is now making much more sense for me. This seems to ensure that Nathan will become a very important character in whatever may develop in the future. Ray does have issues, that need to be addressed. The thought of comparing issues with unsuccessful marriages sounds very interesting. This really seems to have become a setup, for what is to come in the future chapters of the story.
