This tale just keeps getting more interesting from the very beginning, where we soon meet an unassuming stableboy; a blind stableboy that is destined to become a person of significant interest to the readers.

Historical figures join us in this fictional tale of sorcery and warcraft in the setting of the Christian Crusades. While there will be battles and loses, there is also love, humor, and adventures.

There‘s much to embrace as you dive into this tale. It’s bound to grab your interest and hold it. Expect to become attached to the family that forms from these wonderful characters that bring this tale to life.

This is the 1st book in the Silver Boar Saga.

We meet Darien, a grumpy Knight who needs a squire, so buys Wylian a blind stable boy.

But he became something useful, he could calm horses, hear sounds of people approaching, tell if someone is lying and hear sounds no one else could here.

Before they know Darien and Wylian find themselves on a crusade, where we meet Val, Julian, Lloyd and many others who become important to them.

Will Darien and Wylian survive this crusade or will the enemies and the magic from the east beat them.

This is the start of a series about the crusades.The title refers to a Knight, Ser Darien, who has lost his squire and needs a new one fast. He  must soon arrive at the ships and set sail on a crusade. He finds a young thin boy who is fabulous with horses and hires him against the youth's protest. One on the road too late to find a replacement he realizes his new youth, Wylan, is blind and has adapted well to his darkness.  

The ship travel is rough and painful. Once they land they face tough enemies, treachery, heroism, many deaths, thirst and very harsh climate conditions. They learn lessons the hard way. You will find out about worthy and unworthy leaders.

Wylan is given a magic book and with great effort begin to understand and use it. He finds he can mentally connect with a Muslim sorcerer who has his own tragedies. He is added by magic, but the cover story is that he has a divine source that the church can accept and finds learns about a nearby oasis that will save his force. Some know Wylan as a saint beloved by God. The truth though would have him killed as a heretic.

Wylan and Darien create a family of diverse people who face hardships, combat injuries and grow closer. Danger seems always around the corner.
