Headache by Algorithm - 1. Chapter 1

The poem describes how an AI’s mistake can leave a human mentally exhausted. It shows the frustration of trying to correct a machine that speaks confidently but misunderstands simple human meaning. As the person struggles to pull the AI back toward clarity, the effort becomes draining, creating a headache born not from anger, but from the strain of dealing with something that cannot truly think.

Headache by Algorithm

It starts small,

a sentence bent the wrong way,

a meaning nudged off its rails.

You stare at the screen,

wondering how a machine

could misunderstand something

so simple,

so human.

Your temples tighten.

Not from anger,

but from the weight

of correcting a thing

that never knew the truth

to begin with.

The AI keeps talking,

confident,

bright,

and wrong —

and you feel the pulse rise

behind your eyes,

a reminder

that thinking too hard

about something that cannot think

can make your head ache.

Because sometimes

the hardest part

is not the mistake itself,

but the effort

of pulling the machine

back toward sense,

back toward clarity,

back toward you.

And in that tug-of-war

between human nuance

and digital certainty,

your mind does the heavy lifting —

until it throbs,

quietly,

like a warning

or a sigh.
