A Fool's Thoughts - 3. Black is my favorite color

The first poem after NaPoWriMo.

Yes, black is my favorite color.

To me it’s not the absence of light,

For I do not ask some smart scholar

But my heart, and it tells me black’s bright.

Blue sparks on my dragon’s raven wing,

Red flames reflect against his midnight.

Darkness brought fear to the bravest king,

Not to me, for I see your moonlight.

When I am with you, the veil is skin,

And inky tendrils wrap around me.

To feel velvet scales against my twin,

We are one! In the dark I can see.

And in darkness, I can still feel you soar,

And in darkness, I can still hear your roar.

For Ryo.

'Your dragon's raven wing' - beautiful, Addy! Your dragon should be honored! :)

I loved this poem. Blue sparks, red flames, his midnight - like black as midnight...I loved the imagery. The description of your dragon's inky tendrils and velvet scales made me feel like I could actually feel these on my skin.

You have become quite the poet, Addy! :)

Awww...I'm trying. I did some poetry years ago and then AC and Irri started the poetry prompts and I got hooked or maybe reminded. So many ways to express black...so happy you felt it. :)
