I walk the barren path - 1. I walk the barren path

Hello and thank you for looking at this, this is the first poem I have written for years and the idea just popped into my head.

I walk the barren path, nothing at my side

Through the wind I stumble.

Up ahead my sanctuary, my respite.

I am numb as I follow my path the net below me broken,

the shadows will me on, I hear waves crashing.

The loneliness comforts me one last time, the horizon catches my eye.

The sun quickly fading, I glance down, my saviour down below.

I breathe one final breath as I look at the dying light.

I am free, drifting into my saviour's endless embrace.

I like anything that evokes feelings in me. This poem was dark and filled me with sadness, like I'm sure it was supposed to. Eternity is the only lover that won't let us down. So, no need to rush the fate, right? I can't leave a smiling face in this review, but instead I offer a hug.
