I walk the barren path - 1. I walk the barren path
Hello and thank you for looking at this, this is the first poem I have written for years and the idea just popped into my head.
I walk the barren path, nothing at my side
Through the wind I stumble.
Up ahead my sanctuary, my respite.
I am numb as I follow my path the net below me broken,
the shadows will me on, I hear waves crashing.
The loneliness comforts me one last time, the horizon catches my eye.
The sun quickly fading, I glance down, my saviour down below.
I breathe one final breath as I look at the dying light.
I am free, drifting into my saviour's endless embrace.
