Blame It On the Eggnog

Dumped before Christmas, Brandon must endure a full Dickensian haunting... only gayer, drunker, and significantly more sarcastic.

A ribald, irreverent twist on a classic tale, this is a holiday story about heartbreak, hauntings, and learning that the only thing scarier than ghosts… is self-reflection.

Brandon experiences his own ribald, disorienting three-part Christmas Carol after has become so depressed and drunk. His boyfriend left him. He  argues with his ghost guides, accepts no responsibility for his predicament and becomes sad and sadder. He sees himself as a miserable poor soul and victim.

Read on to see if Brandon decides to accept his terrible fate or something happens to change him. Can he have hope and a different future? You might learn from his story, I think.

This sarcastic, witty, modern-day gay Christmas Carol follows Brandon, who - after being left by his boyfriend - spends Christmas Eve alone, drowning his sorrow in alcohol and eggnog. What begins as a night of depression and self-pity turns into an unexpected journey of clarity and life-changing decisions when Brandon is visited by three very unusual (and very horny) gay spirits of the past, present, and future.

Unlike Dickens’ original, the author doesn’t present a neatly “morally transformed” protagonist. Instead, Brandon wakes up with the realization that life is too short to waste on disappointment, blame, and longing for a life that was never meant to be. We can’t erase our mistakes... we can only accept them, learn what we can, and move forward.

This story is a wonderful Christmas gift. Thank you, @andy cannon! 🎄
