Walking on the Path of Life - 1. Walking on the Path of Life

Walking on the Path of Life

I wonder where this path will lead,
I have no choice but to keep on walking,
I listen to the thoughts and emotions dear,
That flitters around my world,

Converging paths, and songs unheard
Stories unread and thoughts unspoken,
I hear them all in my unfound mind
Wondering, thinking here,

I'm lost in a mist of word and form,
Picking out the words anew,
For imagery, form, technique and rhyme
bring together what I see

On my path I may be struck by light,
And my face for once does gleam,
Or love that embraces my heart and soul,
And the world becomes filled again

But darkness may curse my life,
from drugs to war to drink.
Thought may strike me at a funny time,
And then I just sit, write, and wonder

For the poems I create, I speak of life,
I speak from point of view.
And, how could I walk upon this path?
Without my soul with you?
