Walking on the Path of Life - 2. Beating Heart

Beating Heart

Pumping away in
vain ethereal beats.

Never stopping,
Constant beats.
Spreading
Warmth and light
And love.
One day,
I simply
thought
Why beat
the constant beat?
Do I
deserve
the life
it gives?
Do I
deserve
its beat?
One day
It happened,
There was
No reason,
For it to beat again.
Life was too hard
My strength too weak,
So why not
Simply stop the beat?

It carried on and
kept on going,
in vain ethereal beats.
It was then
It told me,
There is still hope
So I'll keep
this constant beat.
Only when,
And only then,
will you never feel my beat.
