Walking on the Path of Life - 5. Endless Night

Endless Night

The mind
It's not fixed, not trapped
It's free, free to twirl, twist, and tumble,
like an enveloping wind it surrounds you.
Kept
thinking last night, waiting for light, waiting for anything
to take me away from the twisted reality I call my living world.
It wouldn't stop
wouldn't let me go to rest,
couldn't, wouldn't, shouldn't,
as merging thoughts kept running, trying for first
within my head.
My head
couldn't stop spinning,
like a never ending windy grave to
stop my eyes from sleeping. Some light
must still remain and I searched my brain for
something, something to let my heavy head rest on this endless night.
I grasped
and held onto the threads of memories,
but as I know, that funny thing when
dealing with matters of this, and the hardest thing
to grasp onto is, the

one shred of self identity.
