Jonah is a 14 y.o. student who has come to terms with being gay. Being from a small town in bible-belt Alabama he is scared to tell anyone. Just as he admits his secret to himself, he loses the one person he might tell, his mom. A few months later he goes on a trip with his dad to the beach and falls in love with 16 y.o. Skyler. Sky is the perfect boy but lives hours away, also deep in the closet. They maintain their secret long distance affair until it is traumatically discovered.

A story full of love that also contains heartbreak and hatred, love wins out but doesn't conquer all. Beautifully written with compassion and a compelling read.
