The Rage of the Storm - 1. The Rage of the Storm

The Rage of the Storm

Well, this happened somehow
I suddenly found myself in a system that
In all honesty I didn't want to play in
Fear and love are the deepest of emotions
And now a storm is coming that is
Going to change everything

I'm in love with Alec and Ian
There are those who love it, those who hate it
And there are those who do not understand
Good men don't need threesomes and
Some say that a storm is coming and
Some say that this is the end

The storm is coming, relentless in its fury
The storm is God's wrath towards sin against nature
The waves will be huge and hard on judgment day
Full of bigotry, hatred, and hypocrisy, and I wished
They would sweep away the debris that the waves of
Disappointment have not been able to wash away

Your poem is one of those that makes you go "Wow"!. Very forceful and thought worthy. I loved it Delores. Thank you :great:

I like the flarf effect. gives a sense of something strange and mysterious hovering beneath the apparently simple surface. thanks for sharing.

The storm of love, but with multiple lovers. The first two stanzas are riveting. The third made me cringe slightly, since it reminded me of the rantings of the Christian right wing. God's vengence for our sins. Ouch.

Dolores I do so love when you write. Your work is always strong and never as simple as it appears. You have some painful images that are so provocative. They demand one's attention. Nicely done.
