Happy Fourth of July - Prologue. Prologue

Brad Parsons had been watching the headlines of the Orono Daily, the primary newspaper in Orono, Maine. Murder, rape, and arson have been his triggers before. No major crimes have occurred in town since the murder of Jonathan Robinson and the subsequent suicide by cop of Daniel Walker.

Brad was getting antsy. He missed the thrill of the chase with Detective Saggio and his partner Simon Gallagher. It had only been four weeks since the last murder. His strength was waning. He’d never felt the weakness as quickly as this. He would not be able to wait for a major crime much longer. He would have entered Detective Saggio, but he felt he was too weak to risk that and lose the capability to astral project forever.

He checked on his kidnap victims and resumed his watch on the Orono Police Department on the camera pointed out his back window.
