Angst - 1. The Door
shut the door, don’t let them out
the thoughts that won’t stop thinking
the feelings that won’t stop feeling
don’t let them run free
while I am not
they already run through my head
and race through my heart
rushing through my veins
on an endless track where the finish line
is just another starting line
they mock me as they rush by
like demonic drivers jeering at the cheering fans
and I sit in the stands helpless to move
forced to watch them as they flaunt their freedom
forced to suffer them as they will not let me look away
wave the flag and stop the race
give me the key that locks the door
inject my freedom into my veins
give me the sweet release of nothing
and let it numb my heart
as it silences my head
