Life - 1. nothing good can last

the clock of time ticks life away

the years desert us one by one

the cold of night consumes the day

the bitter rain floods out the sun

all our today’s become our past

nothing good can last

a smile flickers across a face

a whisper brushes against an ear

laughter fills an empty space

a finger brushes away a tear

the golden moments fade so fast

nothing good can last

so embrace the sun whenever it shines

drink deeply of the morning dew

sample the fruits of many vines

taste all that this life offers you

savor well its sweet repast

nothing good can last
