I really got wrapped up in this story and I usually shy away from vampire stuff. Mainly because they are smelly and dead. I started reading this because of "I've Always Loved You". The fact that book one was initially set in familiar territory helped to spark my interest. I soon wanted the best outcome for the protagonists. I found the plot line was complex and intriguing. The characters were colorful and believable. And they were flawed enough to be interesting. It was just a thoroughly enjoyable read.
