Stand - 1. Stand

Stand

Live or die, you have to try,
The world is still there waiting.
Love or lose, you need to choose,
And take it by the hand.

Stand. Stand. Stand and face the future.
Stand tall, don't fall. Be everything you can.

Your pain, your loss, it drags you down,
It sucks your spirit dry.
There's so much more than pain and strife,
There's joy, and love, and life.

When all goes wrong, and hope is lost,
Take heart, ignore the faces.
Lift up your eyes to the mountain sides,
And climb to better places.

Stand. Stand. Stand and face the future.
Stand tall, don't fall. Be everything you can.

Look out, look up, look deep inside,
Have faith in who you are.
There's no one else like you, my friend,
A jewel, a shining star.

When your body hurts, and your legs are weak,
Find strength and hope in others,
Who journey, too, just like you,
To seek a better future.

Stand. Stand. Stand and face the future.
Stand tall, don't fall. Be everything you can.

The clouds will pass, the sun will shine,
But even if it rains,
Lift up your face to the cooling drops,
That wash away the stains.

Reach a crest and take a breath,
And see how far you've come.
Turn and smile, you're not yet done,
Press on towards the summit.

Stand. Stand. Stand and face the future.
Stand tall, don't fall. Be everything you can.

Riley! Your poetry is just as terrific as your stories! :) No surprise there!

I loved this poem. I definitely agree with Emi; it's very inspirational. It's something that I can read over and over again when I'm down and it'll lift me up. :)

I better print it and tape it to my fridge. =)

Thanks Lisa. It suddenly appeared from nowehere, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.
