A simple tale of kindness from one man to another, the desire by the second man to improve himself so as to make life better for his daughter, a daughter who is fiercely devoted to her father and recognises the destructive and spiteful nature of her mother.

Another gem from @Robert Hugill.

A charming, believable, and often humorous story about two men who come from different parts of town, as well a different segments of society, yet bond over simple kindness and an attempt of one man to help the other do something special for his daughter's birthday.  Even though this is a slightly longer short story, it shouldn't deter you from reading it, because you'll be doing yourself a disservice by passing it by.  Read and enjoy this wonderful tale, much the same way that I did.  It's a marvelous story.
