Ian and Aaron had secretly been boyfriends, but after Ian outed himself to save another gay boy, Aaron's parents had forbidden him to hang around Ian any longer.

After Ian's body ended up in the morgue, Geoff was assigned being Ian's guardian angel and preventing his death.  Geoff had already failed twice before and saving Ian would determine if he would become a guardian angel.  He just had to fight against his beliefs that homosexuality was wrong in order to succeed.  This is a very emotional story and the author deals with the subject matter in a very tender and understanding fashion.
