In case you missed it, I've posted a new chapter in Trials and Tribulations.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on it and every other chapter. Please, it's the only reward I get from writing. I don't mind a critical review if it's constructive.
Trials and Tribulations is my first attempt at writing a story. Needless to say, I had a lot to learn and I was lucky enough to come across two people, Wayne and Louis, that were willing to help. Wayne has been teaching me how to make the story flow better and Louis has been teaching me the laws of writing.
I have also sought other sources to improve my writing skill to better my telling of Trials and Tribulations. One of the awesome sources I found was Editor-Proof Your Writing: 21 Steps T
I'll be wrapping up Trials and Tribulations with the next chapter.
Will there be more to come? In a word, yes. However, the time frame on that is up in the air. The big mistake I made with this story was not having it written before I started posting. I won't make that mistake again. Whatever I write to continue this story will be completely written, beta read, and edited before I start posting it.
I'll say more after the last chapter is written.
Thanks everyone!
Billy
I was just wondering if it's unethical or immoral or some other wrong for a beta reader or editor to like or leave a review on a story they are working on. What's your opinion?
It's never too late to be what you might of been.
Hey everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day and that you will have an awesome weekend.
A new chapter is now posted for Trials and Tribulations. I'm sorry concerning the time between the chapters, but life has a way of getting in the way of the things we love to do. For me, I love writing this story, and I hope that the interest shown thus far in the story, remains.
I like to mention Wayne aka Comicfan and Louis aka LJH and thank them for their tireless work which they have freely
I recently had a blog up that several people commented on and I found I could agree with points made by everyone, including myself. And I appreciate every comment made. However, I can also see that the anger behind the things I said and could possibly say, is not, would not be, good for the relationships between authors and editors here at GA.. Therefore, I deleted it. Not because of what anyone said, but because of what someone might say that could do harm to the community at large. I don't wan
I will be editing Trials and Tribulations in the coming days to make it a better read and cut out the mistakes. So if you have me tagged, please forgive the e-mails letting you know I've made updates and changes. There shouldn't be a lot of corrections, but there are some. So, please forgive
Dear Readers of Trials and Tribulations,
All of you that have left comments following each chapter and those of you that have been reading the story without commenting have made a profound impact on my life in more ways that you could ever guess. I know there's a lot I would have to learn before I could ever consider myself truly an author. I must say that each comment left has given me the confidence to continue.
However, something I must tell you concerning the ability to post a chapte
We find Andy, Joey, and Roger heading to High Rock in chapter 17 and a continuation of that trip will be in Chapter 18, which is coming soon.
In these two chapters four big things occur. Two of them are clearly seen by all. Of the two not so noticeable, one is clearer than the other, but can you see all four?
Hey guys! Sorry it's been a while since I last posted a chapter, but lot has been happening in my life, both good and bad. However, I'm heading home today, and I promise to start pumping out the chapters again. The response I've gotten from the story so far has been awesome and I look forward to repaying that response with awesome chapters.
I hope everyone has an awesome week!!!
I just wanted to say hey and let everyone know, that's interested, T&T is still being worked on as I type this. I am on vacation in sunny Florida, but I haven't stopped working on it. I would like to be able to get back on a weekly schedule, but that would take gettting a few chapters ahead. I just don't have the time to pump out a chapter a week AND write good chapters. So I hope everyone will bear with me as I get my life back into order (most of you know the other issues I'm dealing with
Tuesday, in New York, another young teen felt he couldn't take anymore. For whatever sad reason or reasons, this 12 year old boy hanged himself in the bathroom of an apartment he shared with his mother.
For months he had been harassed at school by bullies, for his intelligence, his height, and his deceased father. After enduring incessant taunting for months, Joel Morales transferred to a new school, but the bullying persisted at his new school.
Kids chased Morales, threw sticks and pipe
I'm coming to a point in the story where I'm not sure how much of myself I can let slip in. I've been debating it for a while now, and I seem no closer to the answer. I have given life to my characters, but where do I stop?
I have finally finished chapter 13 and have it published now. I'm sorry for the delay on this chapter and hopefully chapter 14 will be out soon, perhaps next week.
Someone mentioned that this chapter was a little shorter, and it was, but it felt like the place I to end with what's coming in the next chapter. The dream is important and hints are in it of the things to come. Chapter 14 will also have a twist in it I'm sure no one saw coming.
Anyway, thanks to all of you for supporting me a
As soon as I can finish Trials and Tribulations for those of you that like the story, I'm done forever trying to write again or open my heart for another person, ever. I can't allow myself to be called names that hurt and always have my love and commitment questioned every other week. As soon as I am done here, I don't think I'll interact online anymore with hopes or dreams. Sorry.
Trials and Tribulations is being received a lot better than I ever imagined when I began the story. I know the heart of the story is coming from within me, my experiences, love, and desires; but without the work my editors and beta reader have put into this story, I fear a lot of what makes the story what it is, would be missing.
When I first decided to try writing a story, I asked people I had met in the chat room and other people I knew online if they would edit for me. Believe me, I defin
I'm looking for feed-back here concerning a scene in chapter 12. The scene takes place in church. Without giving too much away, the pastor is giving his Sunday morning service sermon. The whole sermon is NOT quoted, but a couple of verses and a small story is a part of the dialogue. The message is positive towards gays and a positive stance is take by some.
My question is this: Is this too much religion, even though it will play an important part in later chapters?
I really need your opi
I want to make one thing clear to everyone, I was honored to just be nominated, further honored to have made the cut. Thank you to everyone involved. However, all four other stories nominated in the New Author Category, deserves votes. Each of them have been at this a lot longer than I have, and deserve your recognition.
That's not to say I don't think Trials and Tribulations is any good, with the help I've received, I do think it is a good story. KC, Sean, Old Bob and Naptowngirl have been
Chapter 9 will be posted soon.
I've been thinking of putting the story on hold until after the Holidays. But I thought it would be best to have some input from you the reader. Please let me know what you think about the story going on hold and what you think of the direction the story is headed in.

Trials and Tribulations Chapter 3 is now posted.
A story about the trials and tribulations of Andy Collins and friends as he confronts his sexual orientation in a small mining town of Pine Hills nestled away in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
Trials and Tribulations
I just published the first chapter of my first story ever. It's a coming out, coming of age story about the trials and tribulations of Andy Collins and friends as he confronts his sexual orientation in a small mining town of Pine Hills nestled away in the Appalachian Mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
I would love for you to give it a read and let me know if you liked the chapter and would like for me to continue the story. I know I will make mistakes, but hopefully I will learn from them and not
Life's curves
I don't know, I get so confused sometimes. I listen to people talk, read stories (fiction, i know) and like all stories there's usually a grain of truth in them. They do came from someone's experiences. Like it's been said, there's nothing new under the sun.
Years ago I admitted to a friend that being gay scared me not because of what other people thought, since I had been through so much already by the age of 27 to worry with opinions not my own. It scared me because I nev
Life can sometimes seem like you are just barely holding on to a thin weak string. Having a hard enough time that you are just getting through life one day at a time, and can't see a reason why to plan your life any further than one day at a time. But the truth is, nothing lasts forever, including bad times.
I have had my share of things gone wrong. At 15, I realized I was more interested in guys and their bodies than girls. This lead me to getting caught sneaking a peek at a high school spo
