You should go because it's only two days of school, you can easily make up the work esp if you ask about it ahead of time, and Jason Mraz is awesome...........or...........you shouldn't go because school's more important than a concert that's most likely not a once in a lifetime experience like you dramatically put.

In other words, do what you want. No one else would know your study habits, stakes, and aptitude. You're a grad student, you prolly (should) know how to balance your own work/play by now.

Concert. Hands down. Although, I've been told that it's wise to ignore my counsel on certain things and responsibility is one of them. But hey, take it for what it's worth.

I had a young Canadian guy who had tickets to the Olympics in his hometown (near Vancouver). He told me about it at the beginning of the semester and asked if I'd excuse him to go. It was the f**king Olympics. Of course I said OK. Not all of his professors were as cool with it. Then again, I have a thing for Canadians in general, and especially cute blond ones.

It's not worth f**king up school for Jason Mraz. But anything worth having is worth asking for.
