Lyssa 1,638 Posted May 16, 2019 A wonderful Tanka. I guess, it is better not to be at war with love. 🙂 Your Tanka, reminds me on the myth of Venus (Rose) who transformed a lovely girl out of jealousy into a lily. But I guess, knowing you, this is no coincidence. 😉 🙂 🙂 🙂 1

AC Benus 36,631 Posted May 16, 2019 (edited) It’s a rose from my front garden. I took this picture a couple days ago, and yesterday it was raining when I left home in the morning. Steady rain like we’ve been having is a bit unusual for May, as we’re entering a dry period now (won’t rain again until November). Edited May 16, 2019 by AC Benus 1

Thank you for reading and commenting. I appreciate it a great deal 2

It's a snapshot of the very rose that inspired the poem. The day after taking the picture, I came out to go to work and saw it, a Nature "gilded lily" as it were, and got inspired. Thank you, as always, for your wonderful comments 1
