These are not palinodes, but the definition sparked a memory of my youth. I remembered a couple of songs by Leslie Gore from the 1960's I think may serve the purpose of demonstrating how far these words of the day can take our imaginations. Well at least my imagination.

"It's My Party" and "Judy's Turn to Cry".  The first is her love, Johnny leaves her for Judy.  The second is Johnny leaves Judy to return to her.  Leslie sang many dance songs with the word "cry" in the title. 😉
