The original spelling was scullduggery when it appeared in 1845.

This is a word that I love to say just because of how it sounds.  Some words can just make me laugh inside when I hear or say them.  I do think it is also a word that applies to many GA authors who twist plots and push readers off cliffs.  Great word for the day! :2thumbs:

It leads you to think of pirates, even though it postdates the Golden Age of piracy and has nothing to do with skulls.
