The authors are revealed once the votes are tabulated and the winners revealed.  In the past, we've announced the participants after the voting has concluded so everyone can take a guess at who wrote what before the  big announcement.  The authors need to be listed so the stories appear in their story list and are properly credited.  But I understand what you are saying.  A big part of the fun of these contests is the guessing game
