The character Archie Bunker from All in the Family was famous, or infamous, for them as well.  He once said, "It's a well-known fact that capital punishment is a detergent to crime!"

Shakespeare used them as well.  He had the character Benvolio intentionally tell Juliet "that the nurse was going to indite Romeo to dinner".

It has been pointed out the former President George W. Bush once claimed that "Texas has a lot of electrical votes."

But the champion of malapropisms was Yogi Berra.

Autocorrect leads to some absolutely fascinating unintended (and sometime hilarious) malapropisms. My phone does not like the word "karaoke" and habitually replaces it with "kamikaze".

My comment on Reddit:

I once sang the Car's song Drive at kamikaze while hammered.

Got a much bigger reaction than I expected.

I still remember David Letterman giving Justin Bieber shit about his tattoos and evolving in to the great malapropism that Myr referred to :P

Here is the entire interview in not good quality. Skip to 6:30 to see the reference .

Watch the whole interview. It was one of the funniest interviews I ever saw on Letterman. And Bieber more or less held his own getting in his own shots.

That was back when Justin was still cute and humble, although maybe a little dumb... but that was funny.
