The origin of this word is Old Norse:  kenna (know/perceive + spac/spec (wise/wisdom) = Scandinavian word kenspecklein in the mid 16th century.  Later adopted by the Scottish.

The city of Jackson is a messy old town at the junction of numerous railroads and two major interstates. Alternate definition - Kenspeckle: Ken has chicken pox and is itchy and speckled.

 

That whore working the truck stop in Jackson will always be my kenspeckle of that fair city.
