Jabble is an imitative word formation.

It first appeared in 1760 in the writings of George Washington.

It's what James Bond ask the bartenders to do with his martinis - jabbled (shaken), not stirred.

The British have different definitions for the word.  1) an agitation of the surface of the water (splashing, dashing,  rippling, choppiness)  2) a mental or emotional agitation or turmoil
