Spicy chips and the Catholic Church

I rather like Cross Country now. Why, you ask? Because of a boy, exactly like everything in my life. There is a totally cute freshman on the team and now I look forward to practice. Sadly, I've only seen him once, and I've never spoken with him. Yet I fully intend to talk to him as soon as I can.

We're going out of town tomorrow, to God Damn New Mexico. I hate New Mexico, and I am NOT looking forward to this, especially because we get back on my birthday. Great way to spend a birthday: in the car for 9 hours. I had better get tons of money from my mother, or else I will be MAD.

I got to drive for the 2nd time when we went to Lake Eufala last weekend. One time my sister let me drive her car in the Wal-Mart parking lot, but don't tell my mom ;) . However, I must say that driving my sister's tiny Blazer is much easier than driving my mom's enormous, brand new dykemobile (that's its endearing name).

Well, I am being distracted by the tv and can't think of anything else to write. Being uninspired is ass.

Lake Eufala! That is a very large lake. If I remeber right it takes like an hour to drive through it from north to south. It looks like the place to be to beat the heat in Oklahoma.

Of course, The only time I see it is from the window of the Greyhound bus, But it is a nice sight to see compared to the rest of the roadside sights in Oklahoma.

I hope you at least have your own discman for the ride to NM.

I just got back from 18 hours ( 9 one way) trip driving two 80 year olds to see thier grandchildren. The grandbabies are apparently scared of old people. The kids cried, the adults bitched and I wanted to be deaf so bad that I listened to death metal at full volume until my cd player melted.

Hey Robbee!

I hope stuff works out with the new guy on the CC team!

Try to have fun on your trip anyway, you never know it might be a blast. And anyway have an awesome birthday and take care!

One thing though:

Am I to assume there's a large, long bridge which passes over/near this lake? Or when you say "driving through" are you REALLY driving through? Because I bet THAT'S why it take so long, I expect once you're fully submerged frequent car trouble hinders your progress. :P:boy:

I never thought of that! Maybe thats why the bus always stalls out through there--We all just get out and push usually until its back on dry land :P

No, Actually, Look up driving directions on mapquest from McAlester OK to Checotah OK. Lake Eufala(Eufaula?)(Eufala is apparently right for the Eufala wildlife managment area, Eufaula is the name of the town and lake?) It is on both sides of Hwy 69 for quite a few miles, Several long bridges and lots of small bays. It looks like maybe a river that was dammed, But I'm not for sure. I was raised in MN, Land of 10,000 lakes, and there are odd shaped lakes there(for a good example of a crazy lake, see Lake Minnetonka) But lakes that size and shape in OK, My opinion is it is a man made lake. I am wrong occassionally though.

Hey! I was wondering when we'd here from you again...

Just woke up in a hotel myself... Yesterday I woke up in Kansas City, Missouri and left at ~8:30 am; today I'm arrived in Macon, Georgia at about 2:07 am... so it was about 15 hours worth of driving yesterday (had to stop a couple times for gas/food/etc), another seven and a half ahead of me today and I'll be home again.

So you never told us if you ever caught your freshman? Or did he run so fast you caught him?
