Anthology & things

I've finally sent my anthology entry in, and I feel like I've just finished a marathon. I don't know who said writing is supposed to be relaxing, but whoever they are, they're mad. Or perhaps the writing is relaxing and the deadline is what gets my heart pounding at 300bps. Dunno, and honestly I don't care now, 'cause it's in and all is well with the world...

Except that England have been knocked out of the world cup by Portugal. This is a pain. Probably some sort of global karmic retribution for when we ran the world badly back when...

On another note I still, still, still haven't had the balls to tell Mick that I love him. I see him everyday, and there's this frisson everytime we touch, and yet I just can't come out and say it... I guess I don't want to hear no. Not that I really think that's the response I'd get, it's just... what if I did.

Hey ho, and life rolls on.

ooooh, I can't wait to read your anthology story :) I know it's gonna rule!!!!

If you ever feel like you're ready to tell him but you're afraid of what you'll hear, just think of it this way.....

Telling him and not getting the answer you want might be better than never telling him and not knowing what would've happened.....GO FOR IT

Good Luck

Thanks Nick!

I can't wait to read your entry too. If it's half as good as your last one, or 'What's the Difference' then we're in for a treat... and treats are what it's all about. :2thumbs:

It's weird, but everyone says 'go for it' and I want to, I really do... Yet when it comes down to the moment I just wuss out. Pathetic I know :(

Back at you!

Sounds like you need the Zen Buddhist treatment ... having a heavy, bronze Buddha statue thrown at your head. It works wonders, trust me! :P

If you want sweet, caring, and sensitive advice, ask Kitty ... I'm the hardcore Zen one, so I'm all about "tough love" ... so, here's my advice ... and don't read it if you have a problem with tough love ...

GROW A SET AND TELL HIM OR YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT!

Oh, and I'm looking forward to reading your anthology entry too! ;)

Well, here's my sweet, caring and sensitive advice:

GROW A SET AND TELL HIM OR YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT!

Seriously, you're a neat guy and have a lot to offer. Do you know what it is that's making you hesitate about saying anything?

GROW A SET AND TELL HIM OR YOU'RE GONNA REGRET IT!

I was hoping that he would stumble across GA and this blog, and 'discover' it's me and be so awed at how much I love him ... ride off ... sunset ... etc.

Now, if only he was on line.

So I'll grow a set then, and thanks for the advice. Any suggestions as to fertiliser?

Let me say, it's a lot easier to give this advice than to be the person taking it. On the other hand, having been a person who chickened out earlier in life on too many occasions, I guess I've finally figured out that I'm not going to live forever. The thought of having regrets later on, of what your life might have been like, can be a pretty good fertilizer, I've found. Sometimes if you don't do it on your own, the universe comes along and gives you a good swift kick in the butt to get you moving. That works, but there is an easier way ;) .

No guarantees, except that if you don't take any risks, you likely won't get what you want, either.

OK, well, I was thinking about this some more and am editing to add this: from what you've been saying for quite a while now, you are kind of in limbo with this guy. It could well be that not knowing one way or the other, and being stuck in a "push-pull" where you can't take action, is tying up your energy in other areas of your life as well, keeping you from being able to move forward with other things. Even if it doesn't work out with this guy, you'll be moving yourself out of the holding pattern and freeing up your energy.

That's a perfect description of where I am. It doesn't make the asking the question bit any easier, but it clarifies the problem. Thank you.
