this and that

I think summer is back for one more weekend :( I knew I shouldn't have taken those air conditioners out last weekend. It was just so nice and cool out. I wanted fresh air in the house. And the nights have been down in the low 40's and I wanted that air inside too! I'm not going to bother to just put them back in for one weekend. I'll be strong! lol and the thought it's gonna get really cool here after the weekend will keep me going.

I tried hummus yesterday for the first time! I never thought of trying it before because it just looks nasty, but the bosses wife made some and brought it into work and BOY was it yummy! OH I also bought four movies a couple weeks ago. Movie Gallery has these awesome sales of 'buy two get two free previewed movies.' so really i got them for about five dollars a piece. Heck that's pretty much what you pay to rent them there. Three of the movies were really good, Bench Warmers, The Hills Have Eyes, and Final Destination 3. The fourth one, A New World, we didn't even get through. Sam even opted to watch Final Destination 3 instead and he really doesn't like horror movies, so that shows just how badly we didn't like it! Colin Ferrel being in it or not, it wasn't worth it for us.

We still have all but the first episode of the second season of QAF to watch too. We'll probly do that this sunday, at least part of it. Tomorrow we are going Yard Saleing. We usually go in the Spring but never got to it this year and I heard of at least 3 we can go to tomorrow if I can drag Sam's butt out of bed early enough.

I'll be glad when today is over, it's been a long week I've had to work 8-5 for the last two days and today because one girl has days off. She has a lot of days off these next few weeks so I'll be doing it a lot :( but I'm sure I'll survive, I just hate when four o'clock rolls around and everyone's leaving and I usually do, but I'm still sitting there watching the clock for another hour.

hmmmm well I guess that's all I gotta say, hehe I been sitting here for ten minutes just staring at the screen so I must be done!! Have a great day everyone. and TGIF!

Hummus is AWESOME!!!

If you have a Trader Joe's near you, they sell quite a bit of it. All, they sell these italian cracker type thingies that are great for dipping into the Hummus.

Hey Vance!!

Yup, Mediterranean food is awesome! :2thumbs:

Interestingly enough hummas is about the only type of Greek food I don't particularly like. I don't hate it or anything I'm just much more passionate about the other dishes and dips. Coincidentally I had Greek for lunch :great:

Shucks, you didn't even tell me how the yardsale went when we talked last, so I'm guessing you didn't get anything TOO exciting :P ....either that or I talk too much and you didn't get a chance :P:boy:

Anyway take care and have an awesome rest of your weekend!

Hummas...ick! Dirt is better. Mississippi dirt that is.

Vance- has your cat been modeling for Purina cat chow? His twin is on the bag of cat food I picked up for my "outside cats".

I love hummus! Occasionally I even make it myself, starting by grinding up chicpeas or fava beans. You have a lot more control over texture when you make your own. There are lots of interesting kinds available in the supermarkets--Asmars and Tribe of Two Sheiks and Sabra are among my favorites; I want a lot of tehina (sesame paste) in my hummus, even though it's fattening, and a good deal of garlic. The other thing I sometimes make is mainly tehina--start with sesame paste. Depending on the kind you buy, it might need a lot of diluting with a little water, a lot of lemon juice, some salt, a lot of garlic, maybe some cumin, and either cayenne pepper or tabasco. Place artistically on a plate, drizzle with olive oil and paprika, and eat by dipping good pita bread into it.

I love Middle Eastern/ Mediterranean food. Baba ghanoush is comfort food to me. I like hummus, too -- not to be confused with humus, which is ... dirt. :P
