one weird-ass night

So, my day was normal and boring until about 9:15. And since then I have had occurences so odd that they deserve a second blog entry for tonight.

I went running earlier, and I'm about six hundred meters from being done with my first mile, when I hear crazed barking. A dog runs up behind me and starts biting at my heels. Now, I'd say this dog is about half french poodle and half demon. It is a foot tall, evil, and barks none stop at me, all while biting my heels. So I start sprinting, and this dog speeds up and can actually keep up with me! You see, I run really fast, and this dog is tiny, but it can still keep up with me!

So I sprint all the way home and run inside my door, and my mom gives me about five minutes to catch my breath and then tells me to go finish my running. She expects me to do well at Cross Country, and she will even be mean to me to make it happen. It's a good thing she's nice occasionally or I would really start to hate her.

So I finish running and I come back inside, and I walked by the garage on my way upstairs. I heard this funny noise, so I go into the garage, and my sister's car is running. I look inside, and she's not in it, so I run upstairs and ask, "Do you know your car is running?"

She says no and gets a shocked look on her face, then grabs her keys and tells me to go downstairs. She follows me into the garage, and I get into the car. I stick the key into the ignition. Nothing happens. I try to turn the car "on", which is weird because it's already on, and it gets this sound like it's about to catch fire. So my sister tells me to go wake my mom up, so I do, and she comes into the garage. My mom gets into the car and tries to shift gears, and the car turns off. Weirdest night ever.

P.S. and even weirder yet; Snow Dog hasn't signed back on yet.

1) I think I have created a monster

2) kicking the dog usually helps, but look out for the little ones, they are mean. It's the big dogs that have the nice disposition.

3) Your sister didn't name the car Christine did she?

4) Didn't get the dishwasher ... ended up doing other crap all day. So, naturally I have to go tomorrow.

5) Up WAYYYYY too late.

6) What is the best way to hide a body?

No disrespect to everybody's favorite pup Snowie but I'm a cat person. They are entirely too lazy to chase you.

Your sister's car has a fairly common problem. I would have to know the model and year to give you a better diagnosis.

It could be one of several things but it sounds like a tune up is in order. If it's an older car, there may be carbon deposites in the engine. If it is a newer car, the computer may need adjustment. Either way, it is no good for the engine and it needs the attention of a good mechanic or a bad exorcist.

I've never heard of a car doing that! Is it that it failed to turn off, or that it started up by itself? Whatever's wrong, it needs to be fixed. If it was burning gas, it's a health hazard. Carbon monoxide, a product of incomplete combusion, is completely odorless & undetectable by human senses, until it kills you. Here's as good a place as any to suggest installing a carbon monoxide detector/alarm along with your smoke detector/alarm.

I... Carbon monoxide ... is completely odorless & undetectable by human senses, until it kills you.

What's worse, most people don't even detect it AFTER it kills them, but libbonobo might have knowledge of some special cases of people noticing it after they are dead. Actually, my mom was a psychic researcher in the 70's she might know some people too.

Hehe. It often escapes detection even by other people examining the decedent's body. If the blood concentration of carbon monoxide is high, it makes the blood a bright red, which might be noticed in the skin color. Otherwise there are no signs. The only way to detect it is to suspect and then specifically measure it.

And if they do detect it (or figure it out) after it kills them, they have difficulty reporting it.

That's where the psychic research comes into play. Nowadays I guess you are stuck with Sylvia Brown or John Edwards.

We could have had psychic vice president?

Hmmm. Works for me....

[off-topic rant]

I hate "works for me." Mozilla is now working on their firefox-1.5 release candidates, and I filed a bug that I can't get either 1.5rc1 or 1.5rc2 to play nice with java -- can't access the chat room here on GA, for example. A few others post that they too have java issues, but then yet few others post that it "works for me". The unmitigated gall. And now there isn't anyone with know-how who is asking questions to help figure out why it doesn't work for everybody. Argh.

Actually, Dr. Bonobo, they only fail to respond to YOUR bug reports. :)

P.S. that is John Edwards not John Edward

This is his official website: http://www.johnedward.net/

It should work. Of course, there is often a disparity between what should be and what is. This disparity is called EEEEVILLLL.

Works for me. :P

Come to think of it, I wish our vice-president were psychic. His predictions about the Iraq war and particularly the aftermath could have used some forethought if not foreknowledge.
