Looking for story recommendations.

I got into all of this a while back, and I've found some stories that I've really liked. My favourite by far has been DomLuka's 'The Ordinary Us' - http://gayauthors.org/domluka/ordinary/index.html - which completely had me from the start. All of his stories (well, the ones that I've read) have been great, tbh.

 

Basically I'm looking for good teenager/coming out stories, preferably written in the first person. Not stories that are basically porn, like a lot of the stuff on Nifty. Stories that may have sex, but use it tastefully to enhance the plot. Not that there's anything wrong with porn, lol, but it's not what I'm looking for. Oh, and it'd be awesome if the story had a strong romantic character (not the main character, the guy he falls for). Like Jude in TOO.

 

Yeah, I realise that this might sound picky and narrow-minded and stuff, and I really should branch out, but I'm in the mood for this kinda story. So please, if you can, recommend some good ones that you think might to some extent fit my tastes.

One author you can't go wrong with is Sequoyah and his story A Special Place at this link. I recommend, also, Cole Parker's stories that are available at this URL. The High Plains of Wyoming is a fine long, short story, and the novels are uniformly good. Then, there's Brew Maxwell's Foley-Mashburn saga at this link and the first story, Tim. These should keep you going. I will send you by PM the site for one of the best of all -- a writer who wants no publicity.

Welcome to GA . Like you I was first attracted to GA by Dom's stories. I guess I'm assuming that you have read some more Dom too?

 

If you are looking for some other good coming out/coming of age stories then I will recommend two that I enjoyed. Not sure if my categorizing them is correct or not.

 

First is Behind Those Eyes by Viv. It is in first person and has a great ending. I was immediately caught up with this story as it was released chapter by chapter. There is some secondary characters that will leave a lasting impression on you too.

 

Second would be Living In Surreality by Shadowgod. It does have a bit of coming out of one character, but there is a twist in it that makes it one of my all time favourite stories. It is in third person, but the storyline, the descriptiveness and the characters I'm sure will make you forget about first person.

 

I could recommend some other favourites but you should look around and see what you like. I can vouch that the two above are complete, so you can finish them in one sitting (if you can sit for 3-4 days straight ) if you want.
