Yes, it's effective. But you have to be aware of what kind of mental problem you specifically have where you'd still want to discuss it with a professional. Most licensed therapists will provide prescriptions for it. Talk to your psychiatrist before using CBD, as it can affect your liver, as do some antidepressants. Combining them can increase the drug's (SSRI) side effects and raise the risk of liver damage. My meds are quite balanced (knock on wood; they remain that way a bit longer), so I haven't considered adding CBD. My shrink is still on the fence about prescribing it. 1 1
